Right on the beach with nice sand, Big and not crowded swimming pool, Quiet Seem like a very minimum of maintenance is done, staff at the reception indifferent to your need, rooms need some refreshing, smelly and moldy, bathroom was falling apart. We rent 2 rooms for one week. We enjoyed our stay but didn't have high expectation. The Hotel complex is nice but definitively need more maintenance. There's no elevator and no body at the reception willing to help you carry the luggage to the 3rd level, even if they were 4 (2 men) at the reception starring at me like deer on a spot light. Room were clean but the carpet was smelly and old. The shower doors fall on us in both room, the staff didn't do anything about it. There's no safe in the room. The beach bar food is pretty good and we enjoyed having cocktails there too. The breakfast was sufficient but limited.
Nightlife Tip : Happy hours at the beach bar was from 5h30 to 6h30, 1/2 price on the beer.

Neat and simple, the hotel is situated to the southern end and towards a hill so gives you an isolated look. It is a basic hotel. The staff is polite and friendly. The hotel ambience is good. For breakfast they dont provide more than one omlette. It is a descent hotel for the amount that we give. Only three channels they provide in TV. The rooms are neat but according to me they cannot be called as a three star. We stayed in a deluxe room , though they call it as a three star hotel , it is not convinicing to be called as a three star hotel if you only consider the rooms. The rooms are neat and well kept , but cant be called three star by looking at the room. But i think if we book slightly early you get quiet a good deal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go for island hopping without fail. It is a great expeirence. They charge 35 RM.
The snorkelling trip in pulau payar was also good , they charged about 100RM per head.
The food outside is quiet expensive, especially sea food but it is worth the try.

The pool is really good and the hotel is right on the beach. The rooms are a bit dated, bathroom is small and the hotel is a bit out of town so you will need a car. The hotel is managed efficiently and is clean and in a good location for the beach. The pool is big and clean and good to use and the staff are friendly and provided a good baby cot for my two year old when requested. The food from the beach restaurant was delicious and we could eat dinner whilst our 2 year old played in the sand. My wife also enjoyed a great massage on the beach.

- Location was good
- Food reasonable
- Villa with 2 separate bedrooms perfect for family with kids - Seawater was dirty
- Hotel could need a makeover
- Breakfast could be better The hotel was a good place to have as a base.
All the basic needs where covered. Beach, pool and restaurant.
Some water activities and volleyball net on the beach.
Free bicycle was also provided.
The staff was also helpful and friendly.
Even though the rooms where old, the cleaning staff did an excellent job cleaning up after two small kids on a rainy holiday.
It is easy and short distance to car/scooter rentals nearby.
If you want a cheap hotel close to everything, The Lanai would be a good choice.

Nice pool and they are right on the beach. Noisy hallways that echoed through the rooms. We only stayed here one night so it is difficult to comment on all features. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was quite noisy, with its open hallways that echoed throughout the rooms. The pool area was nice and the hotel is right on the beach with water sports available and the chance to watch the locals catch the tiny shrimp they like to eat straight from the sea.
Restaurant Tip : Try "The Cactus Restaurant" located across the road from Holiday Villa's on the same road as the Lanai. Great breakfasts and great staff.

room is nothing fancy, hotel condition is not so good >> look a bit dirty Overall I think this hotel is OK, but certainely not worth the price they ask. Staff are rather indifferent, and breakfast not worth it.
good points are the pool, which is big and nice and not crowded, as well as the beach bar which offers reasonable price for a chill out drink.
The accomodation in itself is not what you would expect for the money, corridor is dark and in questionnable condition. The room was clean but not immaculate. Overall not my favourite choice, but you could find (far) worse.

the beautiful pools and beach, the deluxe room provided was big. The ladies at reception were friendly and helpful. Rooms need upgrading - it smelt damp and mouldy. At night a motor starts and stops throughout the night - very noisy if you are a light sleeper. I can imagine that when the hotel first opened it was very opulent and beautiful. But it needs upgrading.

The best thing which i liked about the hotel is restaurnt was close to beach..............so the view was excellent. They need to have lift and also service for the laguage.......thats relly bad thing as we came late night and we got third floor we took our laguage by ourself. The morning was really beautiful, surrounding was perfect, even if we came with a kid but feel like we are on honeymoon, people are relly cooperative,beach wa nice,food was excellent as we din like foood in Kaula lumpur but here we njoyed.Over all we njoyed a lot. Beautiful Place

the beach side location, good swimming pool, and their break fast. the rooms are not maintained well, the air conditioner was leaking inside the room, the toilet flush was constantly leaking and giving sounds that didnt allow me to sleep. I think Lanai is doing bad in its maintanence. The hotel itself has lost its charm. The beach besides lanai is also not well maintanied. its dirty water now. The room carpets - i think its time to change them once for all. The toilets have to maintained bit more in working condition. I think lanai can put more and better umbrellas in the beach.

The hotel is at the end of a quiet beach which is a far better beach than the more popular beach next to it,which is a more tidal.IE when the tide is at the high tide mark there is very little sand to sit on and it is ten times busier than the beach outside the Lanai Hotel. If you want a lot of action this hotel is to far away from the main shopping and people gathering areas,you can walk it but its a fair walk. The Lanai,Is a very nice,good value hotel with nice helpful staff in a quiet location on one of the best beachs in Langkawi,[We drove all over the island and looked at all the beachs].The breakfasts where good the rooms where a good size with balconies,and the pool was large and clean.
Restaurant Tip : There is a set of good restaurant along the road North of the Hotel and are in good walking distance and there is a good car and motor bike hire company within walking distance.

Very friendly and helpful staff, nice pool area, nice beach location. Short walk to central west coast area. All in all, you get a lot for your money. Beach restaurant very empty in the evening. I had no idea where people were going.
No safe deposit box at the room, have to go back and forth to reception.
There was no hand soap at the bathroom, which I found odd. I had a three days stay at this hotel, and enjoyed it very much. I think the hotel is well kept, and the staff was very nice. The guy in the reception lent me his Nokia phone charger when I had forgotten mine at my KL hotel. Also, a guy at the beach restaurant offered to show me the Kuah clubs when I asked for recommendations on where to go out. I accepted, and had a good time.
I also liked the "layout" of the hotel, with a pool in the middle and the white beach at the back. The beach was nice and clean, and with the hotel sitting at the far south end of the beach, it's a little bit "different" than the rest of the beach - with rocks and trees on one side and the beach stretching up north on the other side. Of course that also gives a longer walk to the central area...
Shopping Tip : Beer is exceptionally cheap at the supermarkets!

Location is bang on the beach. Access to sports like water skiing and gliding available on the beach. Bathrooms leaking, air con not effective.
Water sports priced on the higher side. The location is very good. you can walk on to the beach in a minute from the rooms. Breakfast provided was quite nice.
Travel tip : water sports facilities were good but expensive.

Lovely setting around the pool.
Beach area Upon arrival at the resort we were pleased to note that the resort styled of Lanai presented to us a relax atmosphere especially the poolside area. If you like swimming the pool design and reasonable size with the coconut trees give a relax and enjoyable atmosphere.The room was clean and reasonably kept. We find the staff friendly and helpfulwhen we made some enquiries about Langkawi. Breakfast was satisfactory.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Any boatride package to the islands, mangrove swamp etc is worth it. Very enjoyable, relaxing and a good way to enjoy Langkawi natural beauty.

Beautiful beach, Nice swiming pool, bar/restaurant at the beach, nice staff service. infrastructure/swiming pool maintenance could be better, NO LIFT so ask for a ground floor room!! No gym. Food is not so good. I couldn't stay beside this hotel (Holliday Villas) because there was not room. However the difference is huge in services and life, but not too much in prices.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go to hoping island tour, amazing!!! Don't miss tha cable car. Visit as many beaches as you can, all different and beautiful.
