Overall very good experience. It would be good if they extend the wifi connection to the rooms, so you avoid people sitting at the lobby with their laptops.

How this can be called a five-star hotel I don't really know. Shabby and run down, paint peeling off walls, all around a very poor standard hotel in a run-down area of Langkawi. The hotel is surrounded by empty buildings which are in a very poor state. Very bad value for money. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Will be visiting Langkawi again next month but will certainly not be staying here.

Well, we definitely enjoyed our stay there. While the service wasn't out of this world, they were eager to help and it was enough for us. We felt welcome all round and will definitely stay there again on return trips to Langkawi.
- Restaurant Tip : Go to Pantai Cenang to chill out over drinks or a meal. It's only a 10 minute drive away from the hotel.

We were looking for a comfortable base to relax as well as see Langkawi with our two kids - ages 12 & 7.
Having read some reviews we avoided the hotel rooms in the main building and opted for a sea view suite (on stilts). Okay, we paid a bit more but the view and location from the corner suite was more than worth it. The room wasn't particularly large, but it was clean, comfortable with a balcony open on two sides affording glorious views of a Langkawi sunset encompassing both sea and a mountain or two. The attached living area had a divan (with a sliding bed underneath). Both the divan and the sliding mattress served as beds for the kids as they were meant to.They were adequate and comfortable for them.
The suite included a kitchenette which came with a small fridge and cooking facilities. The fridge was not a mini-bar so we filled it with bottles of water (a must for this humid environment), beer, wine, cokes, etc. Please note there is a complete absence of cooking utensils (thereby defeating the purpose of providing a kitchenette in the first place).
We found the service warm and friendly (not up to Thai standards but then again we weren't in Thailand!).
The breakfast was good but the selection was not bountiful (a description which would also apply to other Malaysian hotels we stayed at during the trip - including Penang and Kuala Lumpur - when compared with Thai hotels).
Having come by ferry from Penang we hired a car at reasonable rates at the Kuah ferry terminal on arrival. The rates were much cheaper than on the Malaysian mainland. A word of advice be prepared to seriously haggle as one is not dealing with Avis or Hertz out here.
The rental car allowed us to travel around Langkawi at our leisure. These are good and reasonable eat places out at Cenang beach about ten minutes south of the hotel by road. The same applies to same-day laundries if one is in Langkawi for an extended stay.

Thoroughly recommend as a family holiday resort, although a taxi was required every time one needed to visit any attraction.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Fairly remote, taxi required always as no public transport available.
