great location, old and not good maintain room
5.7
overall, it was not too bad staying.
just felt that the hotel is a bit old and not well-maintain.
the bell boys service is great and friendly.
the breakfast is far below standard, and it was very costly, not lots of choices and the food was not good as well, disappointing!
to be honest, i won't recommend this hotel to my friend.

Nice hotel but needs renovation!
8.3
the location of the hotel was great and most staff very helpful, apart from the tour organiser who didn't really seem like he was bothered to arrange a day trip for us... the beach is nice but it needs cleaning, after a few days of storms and finally a sunny day they didn't bother to clean the beach and there was broken trees, sea weed, shells everywhere eventhough adjacent hotels had cleaned their beaches.

only a bit trouble of long waiting for pick up service.

suitable for family and even honeymooners
large rooms, large hotel compound, multiple pool, excellent service
7.7
initially booked for a 2 night stay, but decided to extend for another night. one reason being how much we enjoyed the hotel. end to end the hotel compound is pretty large. each of the "building" - housing 4 rooms are relatively far away from each other, giving you the feeling that you are in a world of your own.
the staff is very helpful and friendly as well.
wait time to get a buggy to ferry you around can be quite long though during peak period. not a problem for those who enjoy a stroll, like us.
the breakfast spread is nothing to shout about as well.
you get almost similar food for less about 10mins walking distance from hotel.
all in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
ohya, we travelled with a 5month old baby, and the baby cot service is a nice ++ point for us.

Nice relaxing Hotel in Langkawi
Relax, nice gardening, Good Service
8
The hotel should consider to provide free Wifi in the room. Other than that, the rest is fine and quite enjoyable to stay there.
Restaurant Tip:
There are prenty of restaurant not too far from the resort. Just a few minutes drive from the resort. A lot of good Chinese, Thai and Malay food around corner.

Lovely hotel with chalets in a beautiful setting
Our garden terrace room had lovely views of a lake
9
The bedroom was dark (without lights on)but spacious and very comfortable. I loved watching the wildlife by the lake from our balcony. Staff very friendly and helpful - electric cars available to transport us around the site. 2 lovely swimming pools.
Plenty of small shops and eating places just down the road.
Restaurant Tip:
Breakfasts were pricey but plenty of places down the road to get a good cheap breakfast.
Lunches at the hotel were good value and very nice.

Disappointing hotel - 3* possibly, never 5*
Great location on the beach, tradional style chalets, 'club' lounge
5.3
We booked 8 nights in the Meritus Club expecting a lovely beach side hotel with great service and facilities. We were very disappointed by the general condition of the hotel (it is in need of some TLC).The chalets are spread over quite a large area which is pleasant. However, the rooms appear very dark because of the teak wood used in the structure, and ours smelt very musty and generally not very inviting. We were unfortunate that we had almost four days of steady rain during our stay which did nothing for the appeal of the hotel. We also had a number of large cockroaches in our room, the hotels solution was to provide us with a large aerosol of 'cockroach killer spray'! This worked, but I'm not convinced this is service expected from a reputed 5* hotel. We were not alone in our comments and opinions about the hotel. Others we spoke to had very similar experiences. We were so disappointed we checked out after four days to go to an alternative hotel. On a positive note, the hotel/Agoda gave us a full refund for the four remaining unused days.
The one element of the hotel that we enjoyed was the 'club lounge' where we could have a quiet breakfast overlooking the Andaman Sea then return for 'cocktails' early evening before dinner.
