We really liked the hotel. We loved the "chalet" style and our room was excellent. The grounds are lovely, with well laid out pathways and directions - I had a few nice peaceful strolls around the area. We did think the spa was a bit expensive for massages, although you can arrange to have one in your room at a lower price.
- Restaurant Tip : Visit the Orkid Ria Chinese Restaurant - food was great.

In comparison with other five star hotels on the island, Pelangi really needs to upgrade their rooms. The beautiful grounds are the saving grace.

Not much else to do in the area. Non-alcholic drinks are reasonably priced. Very good music group in the lobby in the evening.
- Restaurant Tip : Very good food selection, both buffet & a la carte at 3 different locations. Taxis into town are cheap (10 Ringgits) but not much to do there!

If you want to find more fun, food and shopping you can walk five minutes from the hotel to find a street full of different shops and restaurants.
Pelangi good for families, less so for couples

Room was charming (wooden hut), but aircon was difficult to adjust and bathroom was far below standard
- Hotel Feature Tip : If looking for something more personal (and for couples), head for the delicate Bon Ton (less than 1 km away)
Moreover, I would warmly reccomend to rent car/scooter to do some sightseeing around the island
