Lovely Beach and nice rooms The service was not great The location of the hotel was not great, it was far from the city, so had to eat our meals at the hotel. But overall a good experience. They had a beautiful beach and the rooms were nice.

It is just located by the sea, good if your main purpose is to sun tan there not enought lightings at pathway to rooms. pathways can be slippery when it rains. Room - Slightly dirty for the flooring, plus point is the big king size bed
Breakfast - good variety, not bad. Only coffee is not nice.
The rest of the menu for dinner seems to be so-so. Mon, is malay food, tue is international buffet, Wed is BBQ buffet. I never try it cos is not to my own liking.
Service - Staffs are friendly and helpful, checking in is fast.
Environment - You can see many monkeys, squirrals, lizards...Is like back to nature!!
Travel tip : Coffee stall on the left side of the entrance serve not bad food, only waiting time for food to be serve is long. Next to is sell many beach wears which is nice and cheap.There is also a convenience store. If u don't mind walking a 15 mins walk down the beach/road, there are many restaurants there. Tried a italian restuarant Marc Blue (don't really know how to spell), food there is YUMMY!!! Must try their pizza!!!

close to alle main langkawi attractions
clean and well maintenenced staff not supportive at all
expensive internet fees good location near the beach, hotel swimming pool clean and wide. showers availabble. there is one problem, when you dine aoutside the restaurant you have all people bathing in the pool in fron of you. there is very expensive internet connection service in the hotel. all soroundig resorts are visible with their networks but mutiara has only 3 standalone pc's

remote location, close to cable car, jungle surroundings, staff were good, close to Marina for 6 great restruants, great sunsets, breakfast is free and tasty internal restrauant could of been cheaper.
water is murkey, cloudy, because there is a river nearby so it's no good for snorkling. We requested a cabin on the beach, and we got one very very close with fantastic view of the bay. cabin was old but nice 3 star. the cabin was surrounded by jungle and the wild life was amazing (monkeys in the trees). fantastic resort for the price. sunsets were amazing.
Restaurant Tip : walk 1km south along the beach, maybe at sunset before it gets dark, there is a marina with 6 great restruants - tappas and the brazilian meat feast place was the best (steak to die for)

Lots of mosquitoes and ants. Lack of maintenance Mutiara Burau Bay is a budget resort with a nice beach. It's not for those looking for luxury holiday. The resort is very old and in need of big maintenance. The other down side is that its very far from the city center and shopping areas. As no buses are available in Langkawi, either you have to hire a taxi for the duration of your trip or rent a car.
Service at the resort is average and there is lack of maintenance. Food is not good and variety is minimum.

Great Location, Friendly staff, pleasant grounds, good food with reasonable prices for both food and drinks Rooms are a bit tired but well equipped and for the price we paid very good value for money I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a casual, relaxing holiday. The Seaside Bar is great fun with live music, good atmosphere & great food. I noticed all recent reviews were good but around Christmas/New year there were more critical ones, that's probably down to what people pay for the accommodation - for what we paid in October is was excellent value, if the price doubles in High Season you won't get 4 or 5 star luxury and may be disappointed, but for us the holiday was excellent and the hotel facilities are good

No clear sea water (more a disadvantage of Langkawi)
We stayed in Mutiara burau bay for 5 days and had a perfect holiday! We just came from the Perhentians so the beach and seawater wasn't as nice compare to the bounty beauty of the perhentians.. Food was amazing and the band that was playing was reasonably good. Cheap Jetski and nice and clean swimming pool! We saw loads of animals which was nice. Pantoi kok is a rustic place with not much to day at night. Not a good place to go party!

Hotel has an nice beach and is quite - get down to the basics kind !! the cottages are closer to each other and hence not too much walking. Extremely helpful tour operators. Very Basic - can be seen in the 'very very small' bathrooms; Not much activity ; only elderly couples chilling around the swimming pool - sleepy . The distance from this hotel to ANY place of interest is minimum 1/2 hour The distance from this hotel to ANY place of interest is minimum 1/2 hour - and that is quite a distance in a sleepy city like lgw. I would have preferred to be closer to the areas of interest. As by the time you come back from a place - you are so exhausted - you dont want to travel out again
So, if you want to go to LGW for fun then take a place closer to chelum beach.
Restaurant Tip : Try the Taj Mahal restaurant on the way back from islan hopping trip - very good indian food

Location: The hotel is less than 25 minutes drive from the Airport. It is located just 5 minutes walking distance from the base of the Langkawi Cable Car which is a major tourist attraction. However, it is somewhat away from the City and the Ferry.
Accommodation: The Hotel actually provides cottages for their guests. The cottages are equipped with all modern facilities like TV, freezer, Air Cons etc.
The sea view cottages have excellent view from the balcony. There are roads connecting the cottages to one another and to the private beach of the hotel.
Services: Mutiara Burau Bay Resort have excellent facilities and the service quality is also excellent. The staff are very courteous and helpful.
I highly recommend Mutiara Burau Bay Resort. It will definitely refresh/recharge anybody. The roads leading to the cottages may prove a bit difficult for older people to walk as they can be slippery. I stayed in Mutiara Burau Bay Resort in September 2009 and I highly recommend it to anyone going for a vacation in Langkawi. It has everything to refresh you.
The hotel is located near the Langkawi Cable Car station and just ove a 20 minute drive from the Airport. It is somewhat away from the city but that adds to the attraction. It provides the calm, quite, and serene environment which gives you the much needed break from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
The accommodation of Mutiara is good, service is excellent.
By nature Langkawi is a very secured place. So you can just hire a car and that should give you complete freedom to roam around and enjoy the beauties of Lankawi both day and night. Mutiara provides the best accommodation and facilities so you can enjoy your stay at the full.

Gorgeous location Our room was a sweet little cabin on stilts by the water's edge... really perfect... it was incredible to face the bay and be surrounded by trees as though in a forest... langkawi island itself is gorgeous but too commercial... the resort though was a beautiful getaway..
Beach was pretty but water wasn't very clean the one time I went in ... dunno if that's a permanent thing, a one-off, or seasonal... So I fell back on the hotel pool which was lovely warm and incredible view of cliffs rising up around me sigh...
Restaurant Tip : There's a harbour nearby with tonnes of restaurants ... we randomly walked into USSR restaurant and had the BEST meal!

good location, good service, good price nice pool, well kept. Overall a reasonably good 3 star hotel. The chalet rooms are a bit dated but everything works fine. The beach is quite nice although the sea is a bit rough when i was there. Great to sit out in the evening. Evening meals at the hotel are reasonably cheap and of reasonable quality.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the waterfall is nearby as is the cable car. Both worth a visit and some nice restaurants down by the harbour about a mile away.

I have a nice time staying at this hotel, the room and the food plus the veiw they are very good. First of all, clerks are really kind. When I asked about a route to a specific place, they explained me in detail with the map til I got it. And services are fine overall.we love the location of this hotel -really central, on the sea front, with The Lanes and restaurants at the back. The accommodation rates are very reasonable, given the standard and location of the hotel. The twin room which we had was quite spacious, and had everything we needed. We had a young baby with us, and everything was provided quickly and without fuss. The atrium lounge is attractive, and comfortable to sit and relax.

Beach, beach, beach and beautiful beach bar. Resident band. Wildlife. Close to cablecar and Oriental village. Staff. Need to be better trained for friendly and efficient service. No attempt to help with luggage, staff seemed very dettached.Rooms were very small, linen in not good condition needs more attentive staff when lazing by the beachfront...but beach was magnificent the beachbar was gorgeous and very romantic, palm trees swaying in the breeze, nice and close to the cablecar and attractions,monkeys on the patio was a treat.All in all a mediocre hotel and service in a brilliant setting.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't miss the cablecar!!!!

Have a beach, near cable car and old village Far from kuah town, room is a little bit dirty dan the bathroom need renovation, many equipments need to be repaired The hotel is nice, it has it own beach, near to the cable car and old village, but the bathroom is a little bit dirty dan the equipment is quite old, need to get changed with a new one, the hotel staff is friendly, the breakfast is delicious, and the price is not too high,so I think it is a great value hotel for those who want to go holiday with a small budget money
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It is so close to the cable car, so you don't need to get any taxi, just walk about 10 minutes distance from the hotel
