Beautifull surroundings. Quit location. Large rooms.
Tired and worn. Is in desperate need of renovation. Runs everyday out of "a wine, a food ect. Not much to do and see outside the hotel. High price compared to product quality. Agoda customers are not offered the best rooms!
For a sun holyday it is a beautiful location. Personal service is good but price/quality is high. Langkawi is a beautifull place but without much quality activity offers.Transfers works well. When ordered through Agoda you are offered the lowest quality rooms!!! Only with extra payment you get a good room. Food is good quality. Restaurant selection good. Pools good. Room cleaning so,so.

Superb service
Great Beach
Large Rooms
Too many buffets
Tired decor
The first thing to mention has to be the beach. The sight of the rocks rising from the water is simply stunning, the photos really don't
do them justice. The sand is a brilliant white and while the water isn’t your Caribbean turquoise, the emerald green just adds to the
beauty.
We stayed in a Cahaya room which was extremely spacious with large bath and walk in rain shower. The flatscreen TV is on the small side for the size of room but as there's not that much to see on it anyway it's no big deal. With the A/C kept on high, the cool rooms are a welcome relief when you come back from a day in the heat and the mini bar is always kept well stocked.
The Tanjung has 2 main pools, the sands and the sunset. The large sands pool with a couple of small paddling areas caters for the whole family, whereas the Sunset pool is for adults only. We usually stay away from the pools because they can be too noisy but the sunset pool being adults only was so peaceful and had such a great view of the beach we stayed there most of the time.
As most have said the All Inclusive option is certainly value for money, it almost pays for itself just in the limitless supply of cold drinks (non alcoholic) by the pool or on the beach.
This leads me onto a subject close to my heart.....the food.
The Tanjung has 3 restaurants, The Sands which is mainly Asian cuisine has a wide variety and the Thai Red Curry was superb. Unfortunately during our 12 night stay there must have been about 7 buffet nights (maybe due to the Chinese New Year). We didn't get to eat there as much as we'd have liked.
Based on previous reviews we were looking forward to sampling the food at the Rhu but felt somewhat let down, most dishes looked good but taste wise were nothing special, certainly not 5 star quality. The Beef tenderloin dish I had looked like a frozen TV dinner. The menu which didn't change for the duration of our stay was about a quarter of the selection shown on their website.

Just back from a week at TRR and have to say we had an enjoyable time overall. The location is idyllic with a magnificient beach and view over to Thailand. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but need a bit of renovation. The staff is very friendly although not always very well trained. Unfortunately the food was horrible, except for breakfast and the children's menu we could not find anything to say waow that was delicious. Even the fine dining restaurant was not up to our expectations. The executive chef needs changing. The excursions were also extremely overpriced so that we used an outside company for 1/3 of the price!
