The best part of our 4 night stay was the wildlife. Macaques and dusky leaf monkeys abound and we saw many other animals including monitors and giant squirrrels. Dolphins in the bay every day and just outside the resort we saw a dingo.
The villas are large and visually impressive but some of the workmanship is poor. However, mainly a problem for the owners not the guests.
Restaurant over the sea is a great setting and the food was good. Prices as expected, high but not unreasonable for this standard, but the beer is way over the top. M$18 for a small beer is not acceptable.
Sheraton Langkawi is walkable if you want a change and taxis abound here.
Apart from the beer the only moan is about the beach. Great setting but only 6 loungers and no facilities at all. Manager puts it down to "soft opening" but this is not ok in this case. A few old loungers would do whilst the new ones are awaited and a jug of water now and again should not be too difficult to arrange.
Overall, good stay and recommended for animal watchers who prefer to lie by the pool.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you want to see the dolphins, be in the restaurant by 0730.

New, modern, relaxed, quiet hotel
still some renovations taking place
I really enjoyed my stay at the Tanjung Sanctuary. I spent 4 nights in a sea view room and the room and hotel were beautiful in every way. From the modern new furnishings, to the relaxed nature of the hotel. Perfect for the quiet beach get away.I would recommend the Tanjung Sanctuary to everyone
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : get a taxi from the airport to the hotel for 20ringitt and relax

Beautiful location

This is a fabulous getaway resort. Quiet and beautiful among the forest and on a private beach.
The rooms are newly refurbished, spacious and well appointed. The daybed on the balcony is ideal for relaxing during the hot midday, and watching the wildlife (monkeys, Monitor lizards and birds).
The staff were all lovely and very helpful.
However, while the food is very nice, the restaurant has a limited menu, and is mostly western food, with only one vegetarian option.
The downside of the peaceful location is that it is a taxi ride away to any town or alternative restaurant.
Restaurant Tip : Lots of restaurants to choose from in Pentai Cenang.
