Nice villas near the beach

whole area was nice, located on beach. there are many different types of villas. the one we used was just next to beach. very relaxing environment and friendly staff. food was also good.
price was not cheap but we can recommend this for everyone who want to relax and enjoy great environment in langkawi.
Nightlife Tip:
Drive to north from resort and there are quite many restaurants, bars, etc. Some places are also open quite late.

our stay at the tanjung was very enjoyable although if i had to be critical i felt it was a little overpriced as the resort is quite dated in some ways - dont let this put you off. if it is at the right price it is a great place to stay.
on the positive side, food was very good, spa was good (although small), service was good.
langkawi is beautiful - a must visit place

All superlatives. Large well furnished rooms with large balcony overlooking the private beach. Food great but a bit on the rich side for us. Beach bar/ cafe area could be kept tidier and timekeeping for buggy to the entrance could be imoroved. However, these are minor details.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a quiet romantic weekend break from Singapore. Langkawi was an hour flight with Silk Air and the hotel was just 15/20 minutes from the airport. The hotel is located on a private cove with access via a beautiful wooded lane. The accommodation is extremely spacious, with a lovely marble bathroom and large balcony (all within individual beach villas). The hotel is run by a Belgian private hotelier and you can tell how tastefully the whole hotel has been put together by the unique design of the restaurant jutting out over the water, and the shabby-chique beach bar offering delicious lunchtime salads, paninis, malaysian specials and delicious tuna/ meat dishes. The beach is quiet and beautiful with a lovely forest backdrop. The staff are wonderful. You can very easily order a taxi to take you to a livelier part of the island if you fancy a live beach band for a night. All in all, a wonderful place to retreat for the weekend.
Nightlife Tip:
Try the casa del mar restaurant for delicious food, and then wonder down the beach to babylon bar for some live music

our stay at tanjung sanctuary was excellent. the service was great from check in until check out. rooms are spacious and very clean. we were lucky enough to get a balcony overlooking the sea and the view was spectacular! service was very good and the complimentary welcome massage was a very nice touch. the breakfast is very good, just watch out for the monkeys!
Restaurant Tip:
Bon Ton restaurant is superb. The fillet steak is out of this world!

The room is very nice, is such a good place to enjoy and relax. The room is very big and comfortable, the room interior design also is very nice. The only point need to improve is the swimming pool. The swimming pool obviously didn't have people to clean it for aging, so very dirty.

Superb - possibly the best hotel in the world!
The location, wildlife, peace and quiet, friendly and helpful staff, lovely food, the room were all just perfect to visit the lovely island of Langkawi

The whole experience was superb. We wanted a nice break to visit Langkawi for a week and Tanjung Sanctuary was just what we wanted. It is difficult to think of any improvements the hotel could make, for us it was just perfect and a great stress-buster.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to Tanjung Sunctuary if you're looking for a beautiful location, wildlife from your balcony, superb views from the room and restaurant/bar and a very relaxing time.

Paradise, the best place to stay in Langkawi
Not like staying in a hotel at all, your own private villa in the rain forest, fantastic wildlife

We travelled to langkawi with our 4 month old daughter for 3 weeks and this was the 2nd of 3 hotels on the island. This was by far our favourite and our 7 night stay can only be described as magical. When we arrived we were collected at the entrance and taken by buggy to the reception which is hidden away in the rainforest, it really felt like a private retreat away from everything. All the villas are the same inside: huge, modern and very clean with a massive terrace outside to view the fantastic wildlife. The difference in price is on where they are located in the sanctuary. We had a Hilltop Villa which meant no real view but surrounded by trees and wildlife, the best ones are probably the Ocean View but it did not alter our perfect stay in any way.
The private beach is beautiful with a bar and sun loungers and enough shade from the sun. My only negative comment is that the pool was a bit dirty from all the leaves blowing off the trees, but it didn't stop us using it everyday.
Restaurant Tip:
Make sure you get a taxi to Bon Ton, we had a fantastic meal there, great staff who looked after our baby while we ate and some of the best food!

Beautiful tranquil location

This was our second stay at Tanjung Sanctuary Resort. We had five days there last year and had such a wonderful time we dedcided to stay for 10 this year. We love the peace and tranquillity it affords and also being so close to nature. The accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable and the views are beautiful. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to our next stay there!
Restaurant Tip:
Nearby Telaga Harbour has several restaurants worth trying. And Liman Padi near Cenang Beach is a must!
