nice room, quiet and relaxing with good service and excellent food. very little bad to say. the only slightly negative side was they didnt do anything special for our honeymoon. everything else was good to excellent. would recommend this to anyone looking to go to relax although it does cost a lot.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The trip to cable car was worth it. The trip to the main town was not. Recommend mainly staying in the hotel and enjoying the place.

Very nice spot on the beach

very nice walk on the beach between sea and jungle where you can see lots of monkeys and other animals.
comfort of the room was great. only minus was the odor of the carpet which was smelling mildew.
warning: for those like us who chose this hotel to be close to the datai golf course, be careful it's closed and under renovation until 2013/2014. and we found no warning anywhere when we booked our stay. this is unacceptable.

Very nice beach hotel

We stayed 4 nights in the Andaman hotel. The hotel is 35 minute drive from the airport. It is far from all other places (minimum 15 minutes drive before to reach a restaurant), so you have to be prepared to be on your own.
Staff is great, rooms and bathrooms have been nicely refurbished. The pool is wonderfull. The food is in my view expensive, especially as you have no other option (a basic Asian main course would be at 50 MRY).

We had a lovely stay at the Andaman. The view from our room was spectacular, the beach was gorgeous and clean, and the staff was friendly. I really loved the pool area as my son was able to stand in most of the water. The food overall at the resort was good, just make sure to get reservations. The big downside was our air con did not work well even after trying to repair for 2 hours. I am sure if we asked they would have changed our room but they did not offer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We were unable to get on the cable car as there was a long queue but I was told this was a nice sight. We to the waterfalls which were pretty.

Hotel had it's own private stretch of beach, which was beautiful. On some days, the tide was lapping at our beach chairs. There were wait staff frequently walking up and down the beach giving out cold towels and water, and taking our orders for beers and pizza as the fancy struck us.
Food at the restaurant was good if a little pricey, but we were too lazy to head out and look for alternatives. : )
Restful if you're with good company, but you might get restless if you're up for a more exciting sort of holiday, as the resort is located far from shopping and attractions.
Still one of our best holiday experiences ever.

We have been in Langkawi a few times, but it is our first time staying at the Andaman Resort. The place is good for unwinding, we also went for trekking, cycling, walking on the beach, swimming, yoga etc.
Maintenance in the room seems to be lacking. The bath room shower was blocked, wall-hanged telephone was loose, and the wooden floor was uneven.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hire a car at the Langkawi airport, the price can be knocked off by two-thirds. The hotel is at least 20 kms away from nearby township or tourist spots, and taxi is not easily available.

Great beach and good service
The beach is beautiful and secluded, great for those looking to get away from too many screaming kids and crowds

beach is beautiful, as is the view from the beach-facing rooms. the room and amenities are standard, although the coffee machine is a nice touch. the location is quite removed from the rest of the island, and roads can be quite dark at night.
Shopping Tip:
Stock up on essentials ahead, as the trip to Kuah takes almost an hour.
