I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff were awesome! They were helpful and friendly.
I highly recommend this place if u never been to a malaysian kampung and wanna experience cows by your doorstep, durian trees and a peaceful quiet holiday.

Wonderful little place!
Mas, Effendi, and the lovely countryside

I only stayed for 4 nights on a quick getaway, but the Box was a perfect base for my vacation. It is a little out in the country, so do plan on renting a car or motorbike during your stay. Mas and Effendi were great hosts and I really enjoyed staying at their place. The rooms are big and clean and the hot water & air con work great. Nice breakfast every morning, quiet surroundings, I hope I get the chance to go to Langkawi and stay again!

Short but above average stay

Spent only one night (check-in late & check-out early) but the staff is attentive and stay late until our arrival at around 11pm. Greeted immediately in front of the hotel. The surrounding is awesome if you like Malay village. There's a small padi field just in front of the well decorated hotel, with lots of plantation.

When I met Mas and her husband, I knew I would have a good time. I only stayed at the Box Chalet 4 nights and honestly I could not have ended my holidays better. Local people are among the friendliest I have met so far (and I have travelled a little). Langkawi is a beautiful place, there are enough activities for people who do not fancy nice beaches the whole day long. Try the cable car, the Mangrove tour, the island hopping (quite usual activities)... and you must go on the sunset cocktail/dinner cruise. Just ask Mas (do not forget your swim suit!). It is a bit more expensive than other activities but it is well worth it. I had a great time at the Box Chalet and Langkawi in general. If I ever got there again, I'd definitely try to book the Box Chalet. A little advice though, renting a motorbike is a good idea, you may want to practice beforehand if you have no or little experience.

The room is clear, the staffs are all very friendly, the hotel is far from the town, so better to rent car or motobike for your trip. Hotel also can provide transfer btw airport, and cheaper than the Taxi. Would choose them at next time.
