kids pool, friendly staff, eco-resort, outside showers in the stand alone huts. Some rooms needed to be updated, Mosquitoes, only one restaurant on the resort, no umbrellas. We have two children under 5 years old. We felt it was a good place for the kids. The Mosquitoes were pretty bad in the evening the kids had some bites on them. We stayed for 14 days so we got a little tired of the one restaurant however it is easy to leave and find another restaurant not far from the resort. We had a problem with the Air con and they were always there quickly to take a look. It was fixed with in 3 days. (after many attempts) You have to be careful of the jellyfish. Our son was stung in knee deep water. Just be aware that they can be bad a times. Overall we had a good time. The kids pool was great for ages 2 and up.

a postcard setting with individual bungalows overlooking the bay and islets. friendly and attentive staff- quiet surroundings no net protection at beach against jelly fish - limited size of pools (2) - substandard catering for New Year's banquet - An ideal setting for a relaxing cool-down under the coconuts within meters of your individual bungalow. The surrounding quietness, despite the high concentration of poolchairs, is the best testimony to the quality of the atmosphere. Friendly staff makes up for some logistic shortfalls (haphazard bookroom reservation details and taxi booking). A limited food and beverage choice is easily overcome by cherry picking among the surrounding vendors, all within convenient walking distance.
The New Year Eve banquet was a painful experience marred by substandard and unimaginative catering despite the efforts deployed by the Management, Staff and Artists to make it a lively entertaining moment, after all not unlike some extended family gatherings.
To be noted: special attention is paid to recycling of water and refuse, sustainability issues and integration with local community
Restaurant Tip : excellent chinese restaurant within 200m of hotel. Owner speaks some Russian! select the seafood from their vats and enjoy.

People at the hotel were not that helpful. My friend sprained his ankle and I asked for ice cubes. First thing the hotel person said was that they do not serve ice cubes although they have ice cubes at bar. The following day, I have asked for the medical tape and, again, "we do not have...". I had to ask three different persons for medical tape. Overall, good hotel. I would stay here again. Near beech; pool table and bar. You can have nice relaxing weekend.
Service at hotel was not too fantastic. My friend sprained his ankle, but hotel staff were not helpful. I had to speak with at least six different persons to have ice cubes and first aid kits.

The location is very nice. Good beach and close to Cenang beach (you can walk it). If you dont like walking, there is a taxi stand outside hotel. Hotel staff is friendly. Bungalow is really nice and clean. There is an outside shower. No parasols. no places of shade around the swimming pool or restaurant. It makes lunch difficult.
Swimming pool is small. Millions of jelly fish in the sea. Probably thats why they have a salt water pool as well.
The choices of food in the restaurant are poor. And it is too expensive for what they offer.
Locker is too small for laptop.
No internet in the hotel!!!! Bring your own blue cube. I compare this resort to Mutiara Burau Bay. Although the accommodation of Frangipani is better than Mutiara, the price difference is huge. Its probably the location you are paying for. I like Frangipani, but for the same price i can choose Mutiara + rental car. Therefore i think Frangipani should drop 100MYR in price.
Restaurant Tip : Just outside the hotel, turn right and after 2 minute walk there are 2 nice restaurants on both sides of the road. Fabulous food, but also expensive.
And pantai Cenang has countless good restaurants.

location is good. walking distance to pantai cenang. a quiet place if you want to relax. pool is small.
garden is not well maintained.
hotel staff is just ok
room furniture and toilet needs refurbishment.
mention resort and spa. but i dont see any inhouse spa. shoud have one for a hotel this standard.
this hotel needs major upgrading or refurbishment especially to the existing hotel facilities since it brags about being a 4 star resort. the only thing they are proud of is being a green hotel. but what can the hotel guess benefit from the green policy?. hotel patron on a holiday like me just expect a good night stay in a cosy room with a good service.

You can avail seclusion if you want and also is within walking distance from the main activity area. Checkin time is 3 pm and the hotel does not allow you to enter the rooms before that time if you reach early. Staff is friendly. Nice place for a holiday.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Some nice spas are located near to the hotel. Car rental is quite expensive if taken from the hotel but quite cheap if taken from the rental companies, just walking distance from the hotel.

resort, staff, beach, location, and breakfast. the hotel is away from town for those who are looking for places to walk around, but this is also a pro if you are seeking seclusion. this was our second visit to langkawi in two years and our second stay at frangipani. the resort is clean, friendly and efficient. the breakfast buffet was amazing and the staff are great (polite & efficient). the beach is clean and well maintained.

Prices at the restaurant are a bit too high We were staying at the Frangipani in a Garden Villa together with two kids (baby and 2 1/2)for three nights. Coming from Singapore the first thing which we realized was the peacefullness of the resort and its beach. It felt relaxing from the very first minute. The villa is big enough for a small family. Service stuff is very friendly and helpful. The quality at the restaurant does not justify the slightly high prices. Its atmosphere and breakfast buffet is very nice though.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it further.

locations its very nice very close to beach and very quait place. just swimming pool it should be bigger. realy its avery nice hotel you can enjoy your stay there if you looking about peace and relaxations,beside that very clean hotel and they served good breakfast,and one more thing it's very close to the airport, if i got the chance again to come to langkawi i will stay in this hotel.

A very pleasant peaceful resort, with nicely laid out bungalows. At 3*** a very good value for money option if you don't need to be at the very low end of the price range at comparable class No real Cons - the pool is a bit small-ish compared to those in other resorts on the island Without making exaggerated claims about "eco-friendliness" the resort does its bit to reduce its ecological 'footprint' by making use of recycling and water saving options. The outdoor showers heated by solar panels are located within a small 'patio' which adds to the character of the place. The bungalow in which we stayed was well maintained and clean. It is perhaps our first time in Malaysia we did not need to call in a technician to service aircon or bathroom!
Restaurant Tip : Plenty of choice in restaurants outside the resort - the simpler Chinese seafood restaurants serve beers for as low as RM3!

Peacefull, Nice ocean view setting, well maintain, simple. Quite pleasant stay. Nice rooms close to beach and nice pool, especially salt water pool at the south end. Staff was friendly and food is OK. Excellent hide away to return after exploring the island. I would recommend having a car to tour around. There are scooter available at the resrt. Not your busy party type resort but great for lazy day at the beach or the pool. Recommended.

Great location, great breakfasts, perfectly positioned for amazing sunsets, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Restaurant a bit expensive - but there's lots of choice elsewhere. We really enjoyed The Frangipani. Our garden villa was basic, but very clean and we loved the semi-outdoor shower. The pool and beach areas are very nice - as long as you're not expecting 5*. The location is great. Away from busy Kuah town but walking distance to Pantai Cenang were there are lots of street stalls, clothes shops, souvenir shops, restaurants etc.. Also plenty of restaurants even closer to the hotel. At low tide you can walk a fair distance along the beach and around the corner to the next beach.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a car to explore the island. e.g public beach at Tanjung Rhu, take boat trip from same area, swim in rock pools at the 7 Wells, cable car etc...
