verry nice outside aera, pools and resturants. the corridors to the rooms could badly need a renovation. it was a verry nice hotel. the outside area with the pools and the resturants was verry nice, but the beach was not good. the staff was friendly and the piano bar was verry nice to sit in and they served verry good tenerlion steaks outside. The only ting to put my finger on at our stay is that the hotel was going to have a big wedding and it was a lot of fuss in that behalfe.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : trip to the mangrove forrest geo park.

Hotel was situated on a lovely private beach and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I have ever experienced. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was no happy hour at the pool bar. Great hotel I would go back to many times. The beach was great as well as the pool areas. Room was nice and received an upgrade on arrival.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Car hire is very cheap, so it is better value to hire a car then take taxi's everywhere. The island is very easy to navigate.

+ A very nice and clean hotel
+ Good service and a there is always someone there to give you service
- It´s a little bit "of" on the island, it takes a long time to go to the turist places
- Its not a place to go to if you like things to happen. It´s a very quiet place.
- Expensive! Compared to other places on Langkawi and Malaysia the prices are VERY high!
We liked our stay at The Westin but as I wrote it´s a very expensive place to stay at!
The breakfast and dinner buffés were very nice and included a lot of nice food, but unfortually the tast was´nt as good as it looked like...
But the staff performance was very good! And the pool area is lovely!

Location was excellent, quiet and secluded, yet a short taxi ride from good restaurants.
Staff were fantastic, their recommendations for restaurants were spot on each time. We were on our honeymoon and had to remind the staff a number of times before receiving our honeymoon bonus - a bottle of wine, some fruits and some chocolates. The hotel in general was excellent. The grounds were beautifully kept. Rooms were perfect. Pools and other facilities were excellent. The resort was located in a quiet, secluded location, yet was only a short/cheap taxi ride from good restaurants. The staff were fantastic; extremely friendly, ensuring unscrupulous taxi drivers were dealt with, providing brilliant restaurant recommendations, sociable and chatty which is what you want from locals. Overall, one word; EXCELLENT.
Restaurant Tip : Wonderland - nothing much from the outside, but staff were freindly, they would order taxi's when you left or go to fetch a bottle of wine from the nearest bottleshop, the food was excellent, definite value for money.

Close by the port if you want to take the boat to Penang. Breakfast buffet was great! Location is nearby shopping area and restaurants. Staff were not that friendly, room was a little small. Not a great beach. Pools were too small. Linen were too rough to sleep in. We stayed here for two nights and thought it was an okay experience. We were in Langkawi for four nights and wanted to stay at different areas of the island. The first two nights we were at Tanjung Rhu and I guess we were pampered so much, we were alittle disappointed with this hotel. Nothing was wrong. But I guess I was looking for a nice beach and a quiet place. Westin was crowded and the water to the beach was too murky. You can't really swim in it. Overall we were satisfied, but I don't think we'll stay in this hotel again. The pictures to the pools were a lot nicer than the actual.

environment is very beautiful, service is also good and make guests comfortable hotel loaction is far from the center of city,but strongly suggest renting a car and drive For this trip in Langkawi, this was our last night in this beautiful island. The view around the hotel is also beautiful, especially the beach, better than Sheraton. Next trip, we strongly recommend type villa for the whole family. Just one night, so we just saw a glance of the whole hotel. Hope to come again next time.

Everything was good there. We spent wonderful time in this nice and welcome hotel - the staff is professional and pay attention of each detail - the service is perfect it is a hotel for relaxing and enjoying Langkawi Island. The bedroom is luxury, very clean, the spa is wonderful. In fact it is one of the best stay in my life and I will recommend this destination and hotel to to all of my friends because we really enjoyed each day! If we come back in this island for sure we will stay the same island location (in my opinion the best in the island)! This hotel has full facilities and services we could expect! Again, congratulations, it was a good choice!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Westin. Having previously stayed in Malaysia at more "boutique" style hotels, this one is definitely a large, more anonymous resort. However, staff are very friendly, rooms are very nice and the breakfast buffet is amazing.

Highly recommended for a romantic getaway.
Restaurant Tip : There are plenty of nice places to eat at outside of the resort. Try local food courts in town, particularly ones at the beach front or Dragon Dynasty Restaurant - they serve tasty grilled prawns with garlic among many other great dishes!

Air condition in dinner's room too cold The Westin experience is always a pleasure. As they anounce... Indulge yourself!
In Langkawi the Westin is a little bit old but nothing that disturbes the charming of the place. The reception is large, decorated with stone and wood. The restaurant, apart the chilly temperature, has a wide variety of top quality food. The rooms are a must... a wonderfull bed in a charming decor. The swiming pools are good and the beach amazing with all facilities offered by the hotel. Highly recommended.
