The hotel has an impressive facade, lobby and the rooms are also very comfortable (except the bathrooms, those looked very tired)

SERVICE.. the staff does not have an service oriented attitude. We tried to ordered an omlette - and the answer was No.

It could have been a wonderful hotel experience with a little bit more effort of the service staff. It appeared that no management was around and you could feel this in staff attitude. The location is a bit further out - but it was not a real problem. The pool area is great and provides you an oasis after your heritage sightseeing tour.

Restaurant Tip : Harpers

Location quite convenience. Friendly receptionist. Fast respond from the housekeeping.

The bed and pillows were too soft. Furniture of the room can be improve.

Location is quite convenience and just a 5 minutes drive to the tourism hot spot like museums and shopping complexes. The outlook of the hotel was great but the interior and furniture of the room still can be improve. We realised that we have left our belongings in the room and we called back to the hotel to check on it. The housekeeping get back to us in a short while. Thanks Ms Sue (Housekeeping Division)

Big, grand hotel with full hotel facilities and services. Architecture is interesting, and colour scheme is pleasant. From your room, you get some view of Melaka, especially if you on a higher floor. Complimentary Carparking is available for people driving in to Melaka.

Location is a little far out, by walking it takes 20 mins walk to Jonker Walk. At night, after a night of sightseeing, it takes quite a while to flag a cab as there aren't that many there!

If you're used to staying a bigger hotels of a certain standard then Avillion Legacy (previously Grand Legacy) would be appropriate. Do note that it takes a good 20 mins to walk to Jonker Walk tho, as the location isn't exactly the best. The hotel itself looks better than it does in the photos, and certainly has some character. Pretty good value for money.

Shopping Tip : Note that it is cheaper to flag a cab when you're on the main street, rather than flagging one from the road! The cab to Jonker Walk should cost about 10 ringgit.

Outlook is nice, nice furnishings, safe location

service is poor, not very accommodating. small bathroom

As we checked in 5.30am in the morning, we asked for a late check out and the max they could offer is 1pm. They didn't have a double room left and they gave us a twin, when I called they asked me to shift the beds on my own. That's poor service. Breakfast is fair. They have broadband there but chargeable at RM12 per hour. Not worth the money to stay there.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It is near the business district and tourist attractions

Good size rooms, clean, nice friendly staff, reasonable views.

a bit outside the historical center of the city with no attractions on the doorstep and few places to eat or shop.

Seemed popular with Malaysian tour groups and families. I think the hotel may have been 'dry' (no alcohol available) - certainly none on room service or in the room refrigerator This was a last minute booking. I didn't have the Agoda booking form, but staff were helpful and I got a printout from the business center to enable me to check in. It is a short taxi ride into the historical center, which is well worth wandering around for a weekend.

Bed are quite comfortable, rooms are ok but parts of wall are dirty.

Swimming pool is small, breakfasy is lousy. Not much variety, didn't top up food.

Booked into one of the apartment. The size of the room is good and you have a good view of the city. However, the hotel need to modernise it facilities to catch up with rest.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Taxi in Malacca is extremely expensive, at least RM10 and above .Travell from hotel to Red church with about 2Km away cost RM15, from Lagency to Bust station RM12 and it's only 1.5KM away. It's much expensive than those taxi in SInagapore and in KL.

Close to department stores and easy access to main trunk road to the PLUS highway.

Short of staff especially during festive holidays

Although the building of this hotel is a little old, but it still looks great. The window pane in the room needs some touch up work as there are cracks which then makes to room a little noisy. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the breakfast is consider as pretty plan and simple. The elevators of the hotel would need some service too as there is streaky noise when it is in operation.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Easy access to most of the tourist attraction areas.

If you want some quiet space not too far from town, this is the place - ideal for a hassle-free overnighter.

None really.

Legacy is at the northen section of Melaka town, less of the traffic and hustle and bustle - it was ideal for me and after a day of meetings/appointments, you just need some really quiet time. Food is no problem at as there a food court just opposite which opens till late. You do have to drive into town if you are looking for more activities but it's just a 10-minute trip.

Overall was good. I have stayed here for more than 5 times. I'm expecting upgrades of the guest room interior.

Restaurant Tip : One of the famous local food - Satay jelup is available not far from Hotel - less than 5 minutes drive. Foods are cheap and delicious.

Nothing much within the walking distance from the hotel except a mall. The main attractions are about 5-7 minutes drive from the hotel. You could hop on to one of the touring bus at the hotel by paying just RM5. It does worth your money!

Nightlife Tip : Hardly find any nightlife around this place except few food stalls are still open at night. Don't expect up to market restaurant around the hotel, there are only few 'mamak' around to fill up your hungry stomach!

The staff and facilities catered well to our family demographic. The children were fussed over and a tantrum at breakfast tactfully ignored (behind some stifled giggles from the waitresses).

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use taxis to get into the "Clock Tower." The bus system was insane! Rusty buses just sit there with drivers singing out at passersby and refusing to take off until all seats are full. Amusing but time wasting. Once in the central area pedi-cab (trikshaw) guides were pushy but informed and we really enjoyed the tour.
