Since the hotel environment was quite clean, warmly and queit I will recommend all my friend to choose Bay view for their stay in Melaka. The most impotant feature of this hotel is its location. Being in the center of the city gives the visitors the opportunity to walk around and see the beautiful Melaka.

Hotel evironment was quite warm and friendly. The hotel staff were very warm and helpful. our room was quite clean and had a nice view. I plan to get back to Bay view once more

The price for buffet dinner was rather high in comparison with other places and the food they offer.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It is 15 minutes walk to the red buildings and museums.

Overally, i am quite satisfied with my 1 night stay at City Bayview Hotel Malacca. The staff was friendly and room was cool. I had celebrated the Malaysia 51th National day together with all other visitors from all the places/countries. The hotel location also pretty near to many tourist visiting points such as A Famosa, Jonker Walks and etc. and the famous chicken rice is just around the corner! will consider to stay at City Bayview Hotel again on my next visit.

Easy to access to many interest places like Jonker Walk. Near to the "Tan Kim Hock" local speciality shop that sells local made food.

the room is too dim and there's a toilet brush in the bathroom!

The hotel itself is good value for money. Recently renovated, housekeeping and cleanliness was good. However, staff on duty was not so polite. During check-in, after all the administrative procedure, the receptionist gave key to only one room instead of two rooms that I have booked. I told the staff the I have booked two rooms and not one, the staff is not helpful to check. Only after two three times of letting the staff know, he only retrieve the hotel confirmation voucher to check and upon checking, prepare the key for another room, without even apologize or say sorry or anything like that.

Good value for money, clean and located in the town center, easy assess to places.

Staff was not as polite as they should be for service industry.

  • Restaurant Tip : Nearby, a good chinese restaurant and even the famous chicken rice ball restaurant. Pizza hut is within walking distance.

Although it is not a new hotel, the room is adequately furnished. Air conditioning is good and there is a room safe. Hair dryer and electric kettle is in the room. As with other Malaysian hotels, no toothbrushes displayed in the room. The buffet breakfast is expensive if you don't get a free one with the booking.

Near town center. 24 hours convenience stores is just next door and opposite. Restaurants within stones' throw.

Car park is small and when there is a function, you can count out parking in the hotel.

Everything is fine, except the staff were not as friendly as a 5 star hotel's.

  • Restaurant Tip : There is a very good Chinese restaurant on the corner of the street across the hotel.

When headed to Chinatown or the tourist area, head to the river and take the scenic walk. For a reasonable price we hired a pedal cab for a tour of town. Our driver had loads of local information and history for us.
