Very run down
Limited parking lots and all lots no shelter
Centralised air con
The only good thing I can think of is it is quite near to the town center (around 10 mins drive away). The hotel is very very run down and even although we stayed in a Executive room, the room is quite small and we took ages to shower cos the water pressure was very low. TV reception was bad so practically cannot watch any program at all. It is centralised air con system and it was hot in the room. Carparking is limited and none is sheltered. Luckily it was just a 1 night stay. Definitely our 1st and last time staying at this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Instead of driving to Jonker's Walk, you can take a cab there from the hotel cos its near and saves you the hassle of finding a parking lot.

Decent area, room was clean, breakfast was expansive.
Construction, reduced parking. A bit 'tired' looking.
The hotel staff were nice upon check-in. Didn't check out the pool so not sure if it's good. Breakfast was expansive with local fare and western options. I would stay again if I can't find a nice boutique spot on a busy weekend.

- Hotel room are neat and clean.
- Front Desk and Concierge Staff are friendly and have excellent courtesy.
- Hotel Carpark was extremely limited (Very Un-Safe to park nearby)
- Left side (Open Air Food Court)and Right Sight (On-going construction even on SUNDAY From 10am - 6 am). Way too noisy to stay unless you are out most of the time...
- Minibar on have 3 choice of soft drinks and a bottle of small mineral water.
- Breakfast? They do not replenish the food even it was just 9.45A.M!!! Variety are extremely limited.
- Air-Cond are centralised type so don`t even bother try to change the tempreture.
- TV reception was so bad that I can only view one channel.
- Hotel Location was very far from historical site. Very Un-Safe to walk at night.
I had chosen this hotel not because of budget BUT due to limited choices available as it was Deepavali ( Celebration Day For Indian Community/Races in Malaysia ). I was so suprised to find out so many weakness when it supposed to be a wondefull trip that caused me and my wife a horrible sleepless night after a tiring tour. Luckily we are allowed to extend our check-out till 2 pm. The air-cond tempreture was un-controlable and caused my wife to sneeze the whole night when I need the air-cond most but she don`t that lead us to shut it off completely.
I really hoped that the management really look into areas which they must improved it as all of us are customer and every penny spend must be worth for it!
Restaurant Tip : Easy to get ( Local Chinese Food ) Only.

Location, free breakfast, prompt action when we asked for something.
condition of the toilet (toilet bowl doesn't flush properly), preparedness (room wasn't ready when we arrived), condition of the building.
In overall it was a good experience, although we were faced with small unsatisfactory things.
When we arrived at the hotel (we arrived at 3 pm although the check in time was 2 pm), the room that was given to us wasn't ready. We had to go back downstairs to give them feedback, which they kindly gave us another room which was ready to be occupied. When we showered, there was a flood in the bath tub. It took quite a while for the water to be totally gone. On the second day we were there, they asked us to move to another room because they needed to do aircon servicing. But they were kind enough to give us an upgrade to a better room. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful as well. Location was great, it was easy for us who went to Malaka for the first time to manouver around

Room size, Beds, Breakfast,
This Malacca Hotel isn't ideally situated, but Malacca is such an easy place to walk around, it doesn't matter all that much. We had 2 rooms, one one either side of the hallway. Both rooms had reasonable views. The hotel interior is showing its age, but is generally neat and clean. The rooms we had both had 2 Queen size beds which were very comfortable. There was a great selection of breakfast items including having freshly made omelettes. The only downside was that the air conditioning is central with no individual controls in the room. It's potluck if the temperature suits you. The staff were all very friendly and helpful too!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Instead of walking down the road to go into town, head across and follow the river walk. It doesn't take much extra time and is worth it.

Good Location, walking distance to attractive places, e.g Jonker Walk, take around 15-20mins. Good sighseeing along the road also. Comfortable room with clean and big bathroom. Hawker centre beside is convenient when feel hungry at night.
Centralise air-cond make us feel hot during the day. Please change the door key to security card, it's inconvenient to take a big key along. No hair dryer in my hotel room. Too small for the dining place, breakfast all finished when the time around 9:45am.
Grand Continental Hotel is located around many attractive places, just walk around 15-20mins can reach my destination - Jonker Walk. Good sightseeing let me feel very excited and take many pictures. Staff are very friendly with smile always. Hotel room is clean and tidy, and specially have a big bathroom, feel confortable stay at Continental hotel. The hotel charges is reasonable also. I will consider to stay Grand Continental again during my next trip in Malacca.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walking distance to many attractive places, e.g Jonker Street

Room is clean and well-maintained.
Location of the hotel is stategic and near to many town attractions.
The stay at Grand Continental Malacca Hotel is a comfortable one as the room is clean and equipped with all standard features. The pricing is reasonable compared with the services received. The location of the hotel is good as it is very convenient to reach many of the tourist attractions in town. However, car parking might be a problem during peak season as the parking spaces are rather limited.

Comfortable bed and spacious well decorated room.
helpful staff
noisey air con wich seemed to be centrally controlled.
Hotel generally past it's best
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were polite and helpful at all times. The breakfast were reasonable. The hotel was located on the edge of the town and quite a long walk to the historic centre. The hotel iteself loooked a little tired. We had some problems with electric switches not working properly and the air con was centrally controlled.
The hotel was badly in need of refurbishmet and overpriced when the condition was taken into account.

Near and walking distance to tourist attractions, food stalls, restaurants, muzuems and other hotels. Clean bathroom. Friendly service & good local breakfast
Exterior a bit old. Limited carpark. Central AC cannot control temperature.
The receptionist was observant and noticed my Guest birthday that coincided with the checked-in date. Later, was surprised by a birthday fruit basket for the Guest. Clean toilet, bathroom and bedroom. Friendly staffs and receptionists that greeted us. Local breakfast was good. Not to worry about food as the food stalls, restaurants and food courts are virtually everywhere within reasonable budget. Walking distance to the main tourist attractions and to Jonker Street. Don't let the exterior deceive you.
Travel tip : Main Tourist Attractions, food courts, cafes, restaurants are within walking distance.

The room is big enough, buffet breakfast is great, so many varieties, if you like local food, you will enjoy the nasi lemak, fried keuy teow & nyonya desserts.
A bit expensive for budget travellers.
Executive room is very big, but only have a king size bed, hotel buffet breakfast is great & delicious especially you can enjoy local traditional nyonya dishes. Good location too. Convenient to the travellers by their own cars.

good location, clean rooms
old , staff not so friendly
Stayed for 2 nights. Good points are good location, 2 double beds, good rates with daily breakfast throw in, good central air-cond although without individual control switch for temperature, outdoor swimming pool at upper floor and ample parking. Bad points, not-so-friendly staff (they are too busy attending to their own work), breakfast hall is too small and cannot accommodate during peak seasons, breakfast menu is too boring (cater more to local Malay favourites only) and laundry/housekeeping service never answers their call. At the end, with the price you pay, this place can still cater to your basic needs and yet clean room given, you just have to ignore that the look of the hotel is old.

Not renovated, facilities not enough
It would be better if the hotel, being in such a favourable location can make full renovation of the building and facilities, as for the price paid customers are more likely to demand higher quality and better service. The attitude of staff is good, buffet breakfast is ok too (even though a bit limited choice is offered).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : City centre sight-seeing can be easily done by staying at the hotel.

The walk-distance to the center is okay.
Not very clean, pretty poor.
I didn't feel comfortable at any moment. The staff was not friendly, the room, especially the bathroom not really clean. The breakfast was okay. After my laundry was done at least one of my trousers was damaged. The hotel need a complete renovation. The room didn't have a hair-dryer. Why not ?
