-Clean -New -Overlooking the sea -location is near the shopping malls

-not all the gym equipment is available for usage

I truely enjoy my stay in Holiday Inn Melaka as the hotel is new, clean and malls are opposite the hotel which makes it easy to commute. The gym and pool overlooks the sea where the view is stunning.

The swimming pool is quite nice. And, the hotel room is very new and clean.

Hotel is a bit far from the Central Bus station. And, it takes about 45 mins to arrive the hotel by a looped Bus No.17. It would be better if hotel could consider to provide shuttle bus for the residents.

Overall, I like the environment of the hotel. The location is quite good as it is near the main clusters of tourist spots. Also, many different kinds of restaurant and malls are just 10 mins walk from the hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The traffic congestion is very severe. Tourist shall plan well for your transportation.

Food is not as authenticate as in expectation

Took a coach that directly drops off at holiday inn hotel which is very nice and convenient. It is especially crowded on holiday seasons which makes the queue to check in a little slow but still tolerable. The rooms are clean and there is a good practice of needing to request for shaver, toothbrush, etc to avoid unnecessary waste - save our Environment! It is close proximity to attraction spots, shopping mall and a food center if you know how to walk. The only slight imperfection will be the hotel food itself is of normal grade only ...

Very modern, large lobby, large bedroom with good sea view. Very clean and well maintained all round. Helpful concierge.

The major roads leading to the Highway just outside the hotel makes crossing the road to the malls & tourist attractions opposite a challenge.

This hotel in Malacca is beyond my expectation. Believe it should be the best in the vicinity, if now in Malacca itself. Friendly staff at the reception, the doorman and the concierge. Large bedroom with King size bed. 3 pillows which was indicated 'soft', 'medium' & 'hard'(or maybe 'stiff', can't recall). We got the room with good sea view. Everything look very new and clean or perhaps this is a new hotel. Crossing the road to the mall & the tourist attractions opposite the hotel is a real challenge. Infants should be carried and should not be in the pram when crossing as the road divider is very narrow. Not the fault of the hotel though.

Shopping Tip : Buy Bata school shoes at any of the Bata outlet there. They are 40 - 50% cheaper than in S'pore for the same model due to exchange rate.

The interior design of the hotel room and bathroom were excellent ! The seaview room assigned to me has make my stay most comfortable and memorable stay. Swimming pool was fantastic as it faced the seaview. Staff were friendly, courteous and gone the extra mile to extend their service :) Overall I enjoyed my stay and definitely will come back to stay @ The Holiday Inn Melaka again !

The traffic lights at Melaka were so frustrating. Every stop on red lights take approx. 2-3 mins. The slow moving traffic was worst than at BKK. My personal advice avoid travelling to Melaka for holiday on public holidays and peak period ie school holidays. I was travelling from KL and held for 6 hours on the road slow moving traffic :(

Hotel Feature Tip : Hotel feature tip indicate as the above - Excellent ! For shopping, sightseeing and attraction, I suggest to explore by walking instead of taking your own transport or hotel shuttle. It's a waste of time due to slow moving traffic and vehicles.

Overall we are happy with the hotel, despite on our last minute booking, no doubt the hotel staff was kind & approachable, concern on the hospitality given specially during this peak season.

The room rates were very high but understandable due to peak season but the hotel will have to manage the breakfast buffet better on peak season as the food replenishment was slow, with hotel staff wondering & panicking resulting in dropping utensils. Despite all that, they were well cause the managers came in to give a helping/extra hand. In future they could hire extra hand to handle guest on peak seasons.

Despite all that I have encounter at the buffet during breakfast, where they couldn't handle it well, we have no doubt that we have stayed at a very nice hotel. Amenities was good with rooms very clean and request was promptly responsed. Overall, I will definitely come back to Holiday Inn, not only in Malacca but all over the world!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Its located at the centre of the town were easy access to shopping malls like mahkota parade & it's the centre of sightseeing were all the landmarks are located.

Spacious room, nice gym and pool

This is my first stay in Holiday Inn Melaka. It was a great experience. The check in was fast and staff were friendly and efficient. The room is spacious and clean. I got a straits view room which was awesome. The gym and the pool was great. Definitely worth the money.

Travel tip : Free shuttle service available from hotel to Shopping Mall and Jonker street.

Newest hotel and by the sea. Near to major shopping area.

A little expensive and extra bed was not given even though staff agreed during check-in. Did not meet request on non-smoking floor and slight smell at lift lobby.

Overall, the hotel is good as it is one of the newest in town. However, the rate is slightly more expensive than most others in town. Hotel staff not very attentive to requests made upon check-in, such as non-smoking floor, request for extra bed etc. It is also very close to shopping area.Would recommend for Singaporean visitors.

A very new and clean hotel that I feel is worth the money. The room is very clean and bright, and the TV had channels like AXN, ESPN and Discovery, which very few other hotels offer. The location may be slightly out of the way, but a 5 minutes' drive will get you to places like Datarang and the Newton Culture Food Village.

Hotel is clean, staff is generally professional and provides good service. Hotel has all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. Location of the hotel is good and has good access to various parts of Malacca.

Food is generally quite good although the selection is a little limited. However the coffee served during breakfast can certainly be improved, not quite up to a 4star standard.

A good hotel to stay for a short stay in Malacca as the hotel has very nice atmosphere and ambience. The level of service shown at reception, restaurants and room service are good. Certainly, it is a place where guests will return for a repeat holiday stay.

Restaurant Tip : Just next to the hotel is the jetty point where there are cafe and restaurants. We found the food at the Chinese restaurant generally good and the small shop serving desserts to be good and value for money.

Conveniently located near shops and restaurants.Good view of the Malacca Straits.

At 4pm my room was still not cleaned and made up. I am a member of the Priority Club since 2007 but was not given any special deals or privileges.

The hotel is new, clean and well kept. Shops and eateries are within walking distances. The counter staff are well trained and helpful. There is a good view of the Straits of Malacca. The swimming pool is of good size. The cafe is clean. However the waiters/waitresses need to improve their English.I think this is the best hotel in Malacca.

Nice and clean hotel room, good location! Was very happy that my request for King-sized bedroom was fulfilled immediately. Service staff is attentive, especially at the cafeteria/resaturants. Much better then the other hotels where there's understaff problems.

Breakfast items were good, but limited selections.

The hotel is new, and clean. A good family hotel to stay, for weekend getaway. Ample parking space for cars. Short journey to the famous historical sites, cultural attractions, and the famous Jonker Walk. Easy access to shopping malls. Offer a good view of the Straits of Malacca. Will definitely the top choice for a repeat stay!

Good location. New. Hotel staffs try to be friendly.

Confused front desk staff and mouldy smell along e corridor.

The hotel is relatively new with excellent location. However, u need to cross an expressway in order to get to e amenities. The rooms were not ready by check-in time. The non smoking room was filled with smoke smell when we finally checked in. The hotel front desk staff was also not very proficient, kept mixing up my bookings despite e rooms were made under e same name.

New and clean room. Relatively fast check-in. Strong shower was a bonus. Compared with the other hotels in Malacca which we've stayed before, this is a muh brighter and cleaner room.

Not enough car parks.

We arrived, a family of 3 (daughter aged 10 yo), and was checked-in within 15 minutes. The room was sufficient big for us with a king size bed. The location was good because it was located next to a shopping mall but you'll need a 8 to 10 minutes ride to the tourist area at jonker street. The hotel was also located next to a jetty which had a number of entertainment outlets and restaurants. The hotel provides a free shuttle service but we're not sure where it takes you because we drove. All-in, we would consider staying in this hotel on our next trip.

the seaview is fantastic and the room is of a good size.

the checking in was very slow initially until they opened more counters.

the room was of a good size and came with a beautiful sea view. The checking in was very slow until they opened up a few more counters. However, making our way to the hotel from Makhorta was not pleasant as we had to drive through a car park full of gravels in order to get to the hotel entrance. We couldn't figure out how to get in from the other entrance.
