Great Location & can do better with revamp
Walking distance to A Famosa, Jonkers walk and Shopping Mall

The hotel stay was pleasant although we felt that it can do better with a timely revamp. Check in was efficient & hotel staff took time to explain charges such as govt imposed heritage tax & lack of wifi in the room. Wifi was slow in the lobby due to the traffic.
Room amenities was minimum. No tooth brush/paste provided. Bar was empty & need to call for top up. Cleanliness was acceptable, however minor details were not looked into such as bad condition of room magazines, lack of toilet paper. Balcony wooden blind broke when we tried to open them. Overall, old furnishing which housekeeping trying hard to maintain.
Hotel have steam bath & sauna next to the gym. Gym was small but adequately equipped with treadmill and bicycle. Turnover of towels was not fast, especially for gym/spa visitors at night. Swimming pool Jacuzzi was not working, bar by the pool was never open during our stay.
Restaurant Tip:
Many restaurants/eateries available along Jonkers Walk. For those who loved Bah Ku Teh - Malacca style, take a short drive to Restoran Lim Kee - at lot 180 Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, 75000 Melaka. Cheap and good.
For laksa lovers, try Assam Laksa at Jonkers 88 stall just along the main Jonkers Walk.
For faster wifi, you can cross over to Macdonalds below the shopping mall. In Malaysia, the Carbonated drinks at Macdonalds can be refilled.

- Upon check-in, I did not notice they give me a normal room where I paid for a premier room.

Great location with comfortable rooms

The rooms are comfortable with great view and good locations. Fast check-in and out, with reasonable equipments in the room. But the hotel rooms are a bit old noticebly the wash rooms, and the tv reception in the room is rather poor. Beside, during peak season, there is not enough car park available as we have drive around in the car park for 30mins then only manage to get one.

The deluxe rooms are adequate with necessity with city and sea view, convenience and walking distance to nearby Mahkota Parade and Pahlawan Square, Jonker Street etc. But the toilet is rather old, extra pillow looks dusty and the tv has very bad reception. During peak season, there is no available car park as it is full. I need to drive around for 30mins then only manage to find a car park which is quite frustrating.

Nice place been coming back here

Liked the location of the hotel. It was conveniently located near food areas and the main shopping district. It was easy to get around from the hotel. It was clean the food was not too bad. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Most of all really like that they were a lot of food joints around.

Great location and nice rooms

Frankly, the location was really good despite the jam packed area. I was lucky i was in the Equator Club as my check in and out was on the 21st floor as the traffic at the lobby was ridiculous.

Great location

I'll consider this to be one of the best location to stay. Its near shopping and eating area. Didn't realize that my booking did not come with breakfast and it was a blessing as I started to explore eating place around the hotel and found lots of great food. The kids like the pool and we really enjoyed ourselves staying in this place. Will definitely come back to stay here again.

lovely hotel with amenities nearby

About 2 hrs drive away from S'pore which suits me well. There are enough parking space with good security. The staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean and the facilities are well maintained. I really had an enjoyable and relax moment in Equatorial Hotel and I bet it wouldn't be my last. Thank You
