- Strategic location, close to Melakka hospital
- Nice & clean hotel
The purpose of our trip to Malakka is always going to the Mahkota Medical Hospital. Everytime we go there, we always stay at Equitorial. It's our no.1 choice since it is very close to the hospital and also to the mall. Besides, the hotel is very clean, hotel staff were very friendly and the food is absolutely good. We'll definitely stay the Equitorial if we go to Malakka.

not enough staff at peak check-in time
we stayed in melaka for 3 days and enjoyed the closeness of the hotel to the historical features of the town, it is unfortunate that we booked a tour at the tour desk then found that we could have walked it, as it was only 5 mins walk from the hotel, not enough information at the tour counter. also the guy at the counter we thought seemed not very interested in helping us, maybe a language barrier, we asked what tours were available and he just gave us a blank look. compared to everywhere else that we have visited, singapore, thailand, kata etc, tours are usually the best part of a stay. other than that little hiccup the stay at the equatorial, was lovely, good value for money, enjoyable breakfast both in the rest restaurant and room service.
Shopping Tip : the shopping and plaza was great for us it was very close a 2 minute walk from the hotel

Nice swimming Pool, like the rooms with balcony, shopping centres extremely near & lots of shoppings....
This was our 4th stay in Equatorial. The best location in Melaka. My girl loves their swimming pool very much. Shopping, foods, catching latest movies & not forgeting the Thai massage. We are happy to stay at this hotel. But this time, they given us the room facing the school(also the pool). Oh! it was noisy with the students practicing chinese drums and bands. Overall still ok la.
Shopping Tip : Have a good real Thai Massage before you leave Melaka. Shiok!

Clean envoironment, efficient and helpful staff, great location near to shopping malls and places of attactions, reasonable price
a bit messy at reception area which big group checking-in
we booked club suite which we can do our check-in on 21 storey, which we do not have to queue and wait, the staff are efficient. We also enjoyed the cocktail tea before dinner. Overall the room is big and clean, there are 2 balconies that we can see the nearby surrondings and even manage to capture the nice sunset. We will come back again.

SLIDING DOORS INSTEAD OF CURTAINS
ROOM SHOULD INCLUDE BREAKFAST
Eventhough the Hotel is located at the far end of Bandar Hilir, it is next door to the longest and largest MALL. Just step out and step into the Mall. How convenient!!! The rooms are clean and spacious. There is ample parking. The staffs are friendly and service is fast.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Tourist attractions are within walking distance.

Rather crowded/busy hotel because it's popular.
With the new shopping centre opened just beside Hotel Equatorial, and its proximity to Taman Melaka Raya where all the good food can be found (Herbal Bak Kut Teh, seafood, nonya food, etc), this hotel is really in a very good location in my opinion.
And when all other places are closed, at least the outdoor bar at the hotel will stay opened. It was opened all night, or at least
till 5am whilst we were there over the weekend.

Helpful & Friendly staff.Good sized rooms.
Great location. Balconies with nice views
Internet access at the Business centre is too pricey
Professional and friendly staff from front desk to room carers. Rooms are generous sized, clean and comfortable.Rooms with balconies give great views of the town, the straits and surrounds. Location is within comfortable walking distance to most tourist spots and eating places. Outdoor bar and coffee shop where drinks can be consumed while waiting for cabs or friends makes for a great rendevous point. Handy to shopping malls and internet cafes.

Great Location-close to food and shopping
Professional and helpful staff
Balcony off room is a special
Clean and relaxing
The Equatorial is a wonderful oasis for travellers to Melaka. It is clean and professionally run with helpful staff and relaxing embience. The pool area is so large and divided into sections suitable to all levels of swimmers. Coffee lounge and bar area is great to relax before or after dinner.
Close proximity to Peranakan District makes it easy to obtain great food.
Rooms are clean with modern amenities. Our balcony provided great views especially at sunset.
Definitely will stay here again next time we visit Melaka. Bill Wee

good location in the central area of Melaka
not as comfortable as expected
As with other hotels, the carpet was stained. This hotel is not as good as the various descriptions I had seen led me to believe.

In overall the hotel are favorable and easy access to major point of interest.
There are no service lift to access to the lobby .
Have to carry our luggage through the stairs which is not really comfortable .
Base on my personal experience in past visits to couple of interest place and hotels , and I find the hotel are good in overall.
Easy accessible to interest places, shopping malls , foods in surrounding areas and are within walking distance.
Value for money within the hotel class and suggest some renovations should be done in near future to maintain the hotel class status .
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Easy accessible to nearby place of interest.

Nice room and easy access to many of the city attractions and shopping centre. It's breakfast is fantastic and its swimming pool is on the upper floor.
The swimming pool water is a bit too cold but the landscaping of the swimming pool is excellent.
My daughter loves the swimming pool although its water is a bit too cold for me. However, we managed to walk around many of the attractions within 3 km vicinity to this hotel and enjoyed every bits of it. We like the room setting and the hotel has a festive mood during Dec 08. If we were to visit Malacca again, this will be the hotel for us. Great stay also.
