Great hotel but uncontrolled lobby atmosphere

overall is good, receptionist and house keeper are serving us with smile. location is good and surprisingly everything looks news even though this hotel age is no longer a teenager.
one comment here, i think some staffs should be assigned to control the lobby atmosphere because during my stay, the lobby was crowded and noisy like outdoor night market. i believe some customers might love to enjoy cozy moment at there.

The hotel is conviently located at the heart of historic malacca town.The location could not be better,we had a room with a spendid view of the straits of malacca.Eateries are aplenty just across the street from the main entrance.Historical sites of malacca is about 15 minutes walk.The huge shopping centre right beside the hotel make the walking a breeze as we can walk across the shopping centre towards historical sites such as Dutch town and Jonker street.Driving is difficut in town centre area though, however the hotel provides free parking during our stay which is a bonus.
Restaurant Tip:
On our first night,we dine at a korean resaurant right across the street in front of the hotel. The restaurant had a big sign- board on the wall of the building which you can't miss looking from the entrance of the hotel.Well,we had our best korean dinning we ever experience with impeccable service at very affordable price.My wife swear that we will return to the restaurant on our next trip, of course staying in hotel equatorial.

I had a great trip to Malacco. It was great to be able to walk out of the door and be in the middle of things. A great place for a weekend away.

Hotel is in a good location. Very near to shopping malls, and jonker street. Everything is within walking distance. Parking is free, and one can leave the car in the carpark as most of the tourist spots are within walking distance. Will recommend this hotel to tourists. There are many restaurants nearby opened till late at night
Hotel Feature Tip:
Hotel seems to have high occupancy. We were not allowed to check-in even though we arrived at 12pm and was told check-in time is at 2.30pm.

We enjoyed the stay at Equatorial and will stay at the hotel again. The room is spacious and clean. The proximity to good food and great shopping is a big plus point.

We has a bad first night where foyer lights came off and on on it's own.But we called maintenance and they repaired the tripped switch and the rest of the stay was pleasent.

truly enjoyed the stay. It was great especially the swimming pool and the view from the pool. the shopping mall is a stone throw away. That was the best part for me. The shopping was good.
There is a Jacuzzi and steam and charcoal room. All equally enjoyable. The food was a bit pricey in the hotel. With no breakfast given to deluxe rooms, its good that there are shopping centers nearby. The sites of attraction are near and we can walk to them. All in all it was an enjoyable stay.
