Very nice view, easy to find food and very near shopping mall, just 5 min walk. Room was very clean, I like it!

We arrived at the Mahkota Hotel tired and sweaty. The gentleman who greeted us was most polite and immediately called for a porter to put our bags on a trolley. So far we'd been traveling on a budget so this was a treat. We were given a room with a sea view, and what a view it was. From our spacious 6th floor room we could see right across the straights of Melacca.
All in all a wonderful stay.
The staff were the most polite and helpful.
The breakfast was also the best.
Nothing springs to mind.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you spend a couple of days wandering around the town. Take a trip in the viewing tower.

Please cross the road to the shopping mall with care. You can use the traffic light but its about 200 meter away. Check and make sure that all the babycot's screws are secured tightly. Some screws were found to be loose. High bar for the babycot is not available so you have to face the low bar against the wall to make sure that your child does not fall over.

Overall location is very close to town, can even travel by foot to the heart of town Jonker St. for night shopping.

I will recommend staying at Mahkota Hotel. It was peak season, yet the staff were very helpful and efficient. I commend Mr Zul at Reservations and Mr Andrew at the Front Office.

Will not go back again. This hotel is sure overpriced.
- Travel tip : Should check out Hotel Equatorial or Holiday Inn which are excellent, located near the Makhota Plaza and much newer.

Not value for money. But breakfast was quite good.
- Travel tip : Cheap seafood and massage can be found around Portuguese settlement. One way traffic is the norm here, need to get a detailed map to get around.
