This Hotel is located at very good Location. For those who loves shopping, you can find it all around the hotel.
Run down, staff not friendly, Poor maintenance, tv condition and reception not good, Poor Housekeeping
I spend 2 nights at the Melaka Mahkota Parade Apartment hotel on 1st to 3rd Nov 2009. I have read all the comments about this hotel but i will not believe it until i experience it myself. On arrival i was check in by a lady receptionist which is not friendly enough, can't be bother to smile at all. She gave me the room key and direct me to my apartment building (hv to make my own way). Room was spacious which i like it but there's too many problem, there was cockroaches especially during the night. The ceramic floor was really sticky probably it was not properly rinsed after mopping, The TV has got a very limited station, there's no HBO or starmovies to enjoy with, only Malaysian Channel. The TV reception was very poor. Then comes the toilet, The toilet bowl cistern is not working properly, the tap at the bathtub as well as the sink was all loose. The water flow was terrible, it was so difficult to take a shower with that kind of waterflow. I belief this hotel was a very good hotel when it was nearly opened but due to improper and poor maintenance make it looks so run down. Should the maintenance and housekeeping dept is doing a good job, am sure this hotel will one of the best to stay in Malacca but until then it is left to be seen. Rates are very expensive for such a service. FOOD Was very expensive in house, just imaging a burger cost 22RM.
Shopping Tip : Go to the Dataran Pahlawan shopping mall which offers a cheaper and bargainable items unlike Mahkota parade shpg centre which offers more branded and expensive stuff. For Muslim, there's an indian muslim restaurant which sells the Indian cuisine, taste very good

Easy central location.
Friendly staff
Good variety of food at the main resturaunt.
Check in and out was slow.
This was my second stay at the Mahkota, each time I was impressed by the size of room. This stay was in a small two bed apartment, each bedroom en- suite. The lounge was spacious enouh to allow three people to relax in and have a cup of coffee, balcony overlooked the sea but the view was not very attractive,
Outdoor facilities at the hotel consisted of a long garden corridor between the accommodation blocks with swiming pools and walks and a miniture crazy golf course, all kept clean and woking by a large but nearly invisible friendly work force.
The Hotel is only a few minutes walk from three shopping centres, one is under renovation at this time, and also a 15 minute walk from the ancient parts of Mallaca.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Order a car and driver for a half day or full day through the hotel for best rate.

Best location near all the shopping centres and Jonker Walk.Good for family cause this hotel is actually a service apartment with one and two bedrooms suite.
Interior is rundown and selections for buffet is limited.
We had been staying in this hotel for numerous occasions.Liked the location as this hotel is just next to 2 big shopping centers. If you do not mind walking, you can actually walk to all the nice eateries around this hotel, especially at Jonker Walk ( chicken rice ).However,do not expect much regarding the interior and the breakfast buffet cause nothing fancy.Would rather eat breakfast at some of the local shops that cook up delicious delights.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Jonker Walk is a must go cause you can find lots of nice local foods and snacks.Take note that Jonker Walk only opens on Fri and Sat from 7pm till 11pm.

I like the service counter and the services provided by Zul in Business center. They are customer-centric and with patience. Excellent !
The facility is somewhat out of maintainence. Aircon is noisy, room is old.
However, the room and facility is clean which release our conern of it's old and out of maintainence. And good for us to keep our car within the parking area until we finished the town tour, which also provided us an extra convenient and comfortable mood when we walked around.

The hotel is an apartment style with one bedroom an a living room which also has a full kitchen. It's not too expensive compare to other hotels around it. more important is close to food.
although it has two swimming pools, the room is not as luxuries as other hotels around it, but looking at the price, it still worth it. I would recommend free wifi internet for the guest.
I recommend this hotel
Restaurant Tip : close to a big traditional food court

Located in a good area walking distance to shopping centres as well as tourist stuff
Rooms are run down the carpets are filthy and there is a musky smell throughout
When we booked our room I put a request for a non smoking room aware that it was only a request and might not be possible, on arrival they alocated our room and when we got in it was a smoking room so I rang reception straight away and asked if it was possible to get a non smoking room they moved us straight away so why didnt they just do it to begin with if they had a non smoking room but the room they put us in was obviously still a smoking room it had an ashtray but it didnt smell as bad as the first one. The first night in that room however was terrible it was on the main road and on a Saturday night was so busy we hardly slept from the cars tooting thier horns and the workmen grinding accross the road so I was down at reception about midnight telling them we need a room change if we are going to stay in the hotel another night. I would never stay there again , I was also not overly impressed with the restaraunt food for breakfast and lunch I found most the food was cold and tasteless and I love Asian food I live in Singapore so I do eat alot of asian food.
Restaurant Tip : There are some wonderful cheap places to eat in side streets near Jonker street there is also a lovely little cheap hotel to stay at we looked at the rooms they are small but nice and clean

Amazing view of the Malacca Straights
Two pools
Helpful staff
Excellent breakfast
Pool staff asked my wife to leave the pool as she was wearing shorts and t-shirt instead of a swimming costume. We're unsure why, as it was far less revealing that what other women were wearing, and the same as most of the men were wearing.
The Mahkota Hotel Melaka hasn't changed since we last visited. The rooms, the staff and the breakfast are all as good as they were previously. Both times that we have stayed we have found the safe had been left locked by a previous guest and both times the hotel manager has come up in a few minutes to open it for us. This time he was in our room while it was being shaken by the recent Sumatran earthquake. His calm nature helped to reassure my parents that we were safe!
It's a shame that the hotel have pulled down the trees that lined the shore and were home to thousand of birds as they are going to build another complex.
Over all we will be staying at the Mahkota again if we return to Melaka
Hotel Feature Tip : We asked nicely and the manager moved us to a room overlooking the sea rather than inside the complex or overlooking the town. It's good to know that they are willing to accommodate a guests requests.

cheap, value for money, convenient location
run down, poorly maintained
We really enjoyed our 4 nights at the hotel. We are a family with young children and enjoyed the large 2 bedroom appartment and the swimming pools and the price. We mainly came to Melaka for the sites rather than the resort lifestyle so the lovely swimming pools for the kids and the 2 bed appartment were an added bonus when we turned up. The place has a faded elegance and has seen grander days but everything was clean and comfortable and we met a number of malaysians who were staying there that said that they loved staying at the place.
Shopping Tip : Mahkota Shopping Center

Good location, cheap price for an apartment
Poor general maintenance, dirty floor
For the price that we paid, its actually value for money to have a 1 bed room apartment which is so spacious. But the management has not been upkeeping the place at all. the wardrobe is on the verge of collapsing - we did not even dare to go near it. The kettle heating coil is rusting. I did not even dare to open the frisge which looks quite dirty outside. The ceramic tiled floor at the living room was very sticky. I had to switch on the tv and make her sit on the sofa to make sure that my little girl don't end up playing on the floor. I am sure it would have been a very nice place when it first opened.... but not now.... I won't return.

location - near to Mahkota Parade and Dahtawan Palawan
staff - check in is hassle free, staff are friendly
hotel seems a little old, request for rooms in the new wing...shower was not strong enough, breakfast can be better
Our short stay in the apartment was not much of an issue, the location was good and we had no problems with the check in. Remember to ask for rooms in the new wing. Breakfast could be better though. Roads in Malacca are all one way so it may be quite a problem the first time you drive, especially if you miss a turn. Look out for major landmarks like the heritage centre, shopping malls to orientate yourself.
Restaurant Tip : Nonya restaurant at the nearby Hotel Equatorial is very good at reasonable prices
