great place to stay for a private weekend getaway, friendly and helpful staff. However the pool's a tad too tiny for sunbathing.

Charming Hotel not so great surroundings
The building is lovely and the staff is very friendly
8.7
I booked this Hotel for my parents and they loved it. The Hotel is located in a quite rundown part of the city, 10 min. walking from China Town. Apart from that minor down point this Hotel is just perfect. It is beautifully decorated, the rooms are spacious, very elegant and the staff is very helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

A Hotel of my Dreams
Ambience, service, breakfasts, the rooms, the rates
9.7
I had been recommended this boutique 5 * hotel by a colleague and so when I had to go to Melaka for a conference it was my first choice. The hotel is a luxury boutique hotel of about 58 rooms. The front of house, bar, library and dining room are housed in a fully restored 1920s mansion. The restoration is exquisite. A well designed wing has been built behind the mansion to house the accommodation and spa facilities. The rooms are large in an open plan style - so the bathroom is in the room but can be petitioned off with shutters. It is extremely comfortable with internet provided. The so-called cascading breakfasts in the colonial dining room are justly famous. You won't eat lunch! The service was exceptional (as you'd perhaps expect for a 5*) and staff always addressed me by name. I was incredibly impressed with the intimacy of the hotel and its historical ambience. Rates are very reasonable. In Melaka I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Travel tip:
The location of the hotel is not in the World Heritage core of the city but within easy walking distance.

Good service
Hospitality, pleasant room
7.7
The room was facing to the river and historical village. It was not big but nice size, and the bath/ shower room were very clean. Staff were very friendly and well trained, and support our pleasant stay. There was a Japanese lady staff there whose servise was also excellent. One thing - breakfast: we could choose the egg dishes and it was served hot, but no salad. Anyway, we will be back soon.

Historical landmark, Beautiful decore
Great service, great breakfast, Nice stay

Our arrival was greeted by very friendly staffs, smooth check in. The room is spacious with very very beautiful decorations. The breakfast was great. One of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I have stayed in many. Would definitely come back again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Jalan Bunga Raya is just 15 minutes walk away, you could find some nice food in a small alley at night. From here you could walk to the Jonker Street, maybe 20 minutes away on foot. Kampung Morten is just right opposite the hotel, worth a stroll in the evening.

Nice hotel at good location
7.3
We managed to park our car right at the doorstep of Majestic Malacca when we arrived. That was convenient. We were greeted with a warm welcome. We were given cold towels while we waited for our room key. That was refreshing but we did not have any welcome drink, which we would expect from a hotel of such standard
.
Rooms were spacious and well decorated. Our bed was big and comfortable, except that there was a stain on my bed, which I did not fuss over. We had problem with the pillows, which were too soft for us.
Generally, staffs were cheerful and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised by the nice soft music in our room when we returned at the end of the day. A soak in the beautiful bathtub in the room with the soothing music in the background was a perfect way to end the day.
My husband and I travelled with another couple. Four of us wanted to go to the spa but they did not have enough masseurs so we were told that we had to take turns. We did not want we waste time so we gave it a miss, that was quite unfortunate.
Majestic Malacca, a nice quiet hotel tucks away right in the center of the city. It is very convenient to walk to Jonker Street from there and a short distance from two big shopping centres. I always like to stay in boutique hotels because you seldom see big crowd of tourists flooring the reception area. It is less noisy and the staff, perhaps with less pressure, is always ready to serve you with a smile. Maybe they are happier and relax themselves.
Restaurant Tip:
Try Nancy's Kitchen at Jonker Street for Peranakan food. Reasonable price for good food. If you like pineapple tarts, those at Jonker St are better than the ones you find in shopping centres. There is a big shop in Jonker St that bakes the cookies in their shop. Can't remember the name though.

Luxurious hotel
Very polite & helpful hotel staff
8.7
The facade of the hotel is very traditionally looking, not impressive. But once we step into the hotel lobby, we were immediately impressed, not to mention the rooms.... Awesome.
