Unique Location & Settling

The resort is quite large and we visited when it was really quiet. Although the staff were very friendly it lacked a bit of atmosphere.
There wasn't any tourist or local information available which was a bit dissapointing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Malacca in my opinion can be done in a day two at a stretch so make sure you plan to visit other areas or do other things if your stay is longer.

Peaceful sanctuary for couple

after a short drive from singapore, we were welcomed by the smiles of the staff at the porch and lobby (a welcome drink would be very much appreciated at this point.) the lobby is huge, spacious and airy. we were promptly brought to our room in a buggy ride. it was a scenic n refreshing ride, seeing the beautiful facade and architecture along the ride. our jaws dropped at the beautiful layout of the pool with waterfalls as the backdrop. we settled to our room and were awed with the design of the log cabin. the toilet is new and clean and we loved the wide array of toilettries in that toiletry tray...hence we straight away drew us a bubble bath. we took it easy that night. (though we love the quiet atmospehere and its eco friendly environment, we were quite disturbed by the constant presence of ants in our bed, and were then "visited" by a medium-sized spider.)
we spent the next day relaxing by the pool after breakfast, enjoying the serene peaceful atmosphere and the cool breeze. had a spa moment after we checked out, and feel all rejuvenated to drive back home to singapore.
would definitely stay there again, but this time we would love to stay in 1 of the suites by the pool.

Lost in nature but within city reach

Philea resort provides families with a "lost in the woods" experience. After I checked in to my room, I thought that I was in some forest close to the Amazon. Air was fresh and birds were chirping in the morning. Not a slight bit of noise if you stay on the upper deck. The log cabin feel is very unique and not found in most South East Asian resorts, if any at all. The condition of the rooms was also excellent and the pool with a waterfall was very nice. Although staying at Philea can be considered pricey to some, I believe the memories of staying here will resonate with many for a long time.

Relaxing resort away from town

It was a great stay overall and this is my 4th visit there. We booked 2 units of Philea Suite as I was traveling with my in-laws. We were given a suite near the pool which is great as my kids need not walk too far to the pool but the water condition of the pool was a bummer. I'm absolutely sure that the pool looks slightly murky and I decided not to jump in as I have a sensitive skin. Wife and son felt itchy after the dip but was fine after a shower. Hope management can do something about the pool. Service was pretty much expected from a 5 star resort but breakfast was disappointing. Granted there are few guest during my stay but I guess they should provide what a true 5 star resort normally serves for breakfast as their rates are pretty steep. Btw, the only clock in the suite room was not working.

Beautiful Hotel lovely pool

Check in was smooth service was good room was wonderful.
Place was well kept clean and the cabin was comfortable. Toilets could be bigger though. Loved the greenery and quiet. The sound of the man made waterfall was soothing and the pool was marvellous. Because of the natural rocks used to line the pool the water was warm and cosy.

Lovely and service outstanding among msia hotel

i was celebrating my wife birthday at Philea , plan to give a surprise to her. with the kindly helping of the staff of philea,when we are going out of the hotel the birthday cake was send to our room and put in the fridge. In the end i did gave her a surprise and spend a wonder full and unforgettable birthday.
The cake was FOC and taste was really good. I like to thanks for those dear Philea staff who helping me on 1st Sept 2012.
All last Philea was really services oriental , it is more than a hotel.
The WIFI have to improve we actually unable to online during that time
