Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

4-Star Hotel that need to be refurbished
7
This is the third or forth time that I have been staying at Renaissance Melaka Hotel. However, unlike my previous stays, this time I was given a room at 15th floor which is slightly wear-out.
Overall, the room is clean. But for a 4-star hotel like Renaissance, you do not expect cracked wall tiles in the bath room and yellow stained boiling kettle. Thus, I really think that the hotel should refurbish their rooms.
I had the lunch buffet at the ground floor cafe. The selection were great. The foods taste great too.
Restaurant Tip:
Highly reccomended - take a stroll down to Jonker Walk (just 10 mins away from Renaissance). Check out this lane named Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. This narrow lane housed many interesting old buildings. Most of them are converted to museums, gift shops and restaurants.
For a taste of Peranakan foods, check out Restoran Peranakan Town House, at unit 107. Nice authetic Nyonya foods in an original Peranakan house. The price is very affordable.

Fair - but most certainly NOT a 5*;
Nice staff, convenient location
6
Having booked 2 rooms, and arriving at about 3pm, one would have expected the rooms to be ready; they weren't and we were kept waiting for almost an hour until we could check in. When allowed access to rooms, there were no bath robes and in one room the cold water ran dark brown. The rooms were huge, but sparse (no pictures), there was no turn down service and its unbelievable that a hotel which professes to be 5* makes you pay for In Room Internet - apalling. The breakfast was fine, the staff understanding and pleasant the the parking (again a seperate charge) was cheap. Distinctly average - even for a hotel in Malaysia.
Restaurant Tip:
Try the Riverine on the river (not surprisingly!). Excellent food, great service and a very reasonable price. Easy 15 minute walk from the hotel and highly recommended in many of the guide books.

we reach there at late night, all the staffs are friendly and helpful. the hotel itself is old, and no towel when we checked so we need to call room service. the second day, they also forget the put the complimentary drink.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There's a lot of view nearby the jonker street and museum surrounding the area. The city is small so you can walk to go sightseeing.
