Hotel is central with a big pool which has a very deep end of more than 9 ft.
Car-Park needs to be upgraded. Hotel also used to have table-tennis tables. They were damaged and thus not replaced.
The orange hue of the interior of the hotel is very calming and inviting. The breakfast is also enticing and varied with familiar favorites like Roti Jala, Roti Canai and a full spread of western ones too. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. This is one hotel that we have gone back to year after year even though new ones have sprung up in Melaka.
Hotel Feature Tip : Be prepared to have a dip in the pool as it is deep and big.

The Melaka Renaissance Hotel, although a bit of a hike to the nearest colonial attractions, is the perfect place to stay when in Melaka. Awesome 9th floor pool with a killer gym, beautiful views of the city all the way to the ocean and nice, friendly staff made it a great, restful place from which to enjoy the charm and funk of Melaka.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : do not take the main drag into the town center from the hotel, rather make two lefts after exiting the front entrance. more shops, more food, more access to real-life melaka that way as you go into the dutch and chinese colonial neighborhoods.

Hotel is at a nice walking distance from the the Melaka center
Excellent kingsize bed
Spacy rooms
Excellent Italian restaurant
Very busy in the week-end
Small area to have breakfast
The Renaissance Hotel in Melaka is a very nice hotel which performs very well in the quality price ratio. Rooms are spacy and beds are excellent. Food in the Italian restaurant was very good and living in Terengganu the free flow wine buffet was a very nice offer. Being at nice walking distance (not to far) from the center of the city, it makes it a very nice location from where to visit the town. Only disadvantage is maybe the heavy traffic at Jalan Abdullah.
Restaurant Tip : Hotel has a very good Italian restaurant.

Lobby was big, location was acceptable.Guest room was spacious and clean. Bathroom amenities were nice touch as many Hotels have donne away with this.
Front Office Staff, Bell Desk Staff
( Upon check-in ), Found beds to be a little soft.
No attention from the Front Office Staff - upon check in Receptionists seemed to be preoccupied with another issue ( both attending to the same issue ), so no acknowledgement for a while.Check-in was not welcoming, especially Hotel being part of the Marriott Grp.
Kept baggage at Bell Desk because room was not ready ( which was acceptable because of check-in time ),when room was ready we collected baggage and carried to room ourselves. Maybe it is not part of bell service to assist.
Restaurant Tip : The Bulldog - Family Cafe , Nyonya & Western Food was really good.

the great big pool & the nice breakfast
sorry, we just liked everything in this hotel
This hotel has been build towards a very high standard and it shows. The lobby is vast, marble everywhere with an enormous chandelier hanging over it. Our room was very spacious, very clean with the most comfortable bed and pillows in any hotel we have ever stayed in. The aircon in the room was very quiet. The bathroom although on the small side, was very clean. The swimming pool on the 9th floor was huge for a city hotel and towels are provided.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. We didn't have any other meals in the restaurant prefering to eat out as it's much nicer we think. The hotel staff were always very polite and friendly.
The hotel is only 10 minutes walking distance to Jonker Street, the Chinatown area.
We can't recommend this hotel enough. I would definately rate the hotel as a 5 star establishment. Malacca is so much worth a visit!!!

Location is good, walking distance from major tourist attaractions. Great MANAGEMENT Staff.
Not up to world-wide "Reneissance" Standard staff. Check in took over 20 min. and provided with non-functional card keys (Twice)
Only two check-in staff to handle early evening check-in guests. Expected to be a special Christamas-eve evening at the one of BEST hotel in Malacca, but......start out with really bad expression. However, Manager on duty took charge and all problem solved, however, wasted over 30 min. of "sight seeing" time.

Excellent facilities, OK rooms and reasonably helpful staff.
Rooms a bit out dated, and some staff struggled to smile
From an uninspiring tower block exterior the Renaissaince Malacca comes to life when you enter it. It was clean and well maintained, even if the some of the bed rooms could do with a bit of an update. Most of the staff were helpful, and the hotel meals were excellent - with a particularly impressive \"Egg Chef\" in the morning who juggled numerous eggs for breakefast in a friendly and highly polished way!\nThe Spa was particularly welcome, and its openeing hours and friendly staff made it a pleasure to use. I highly recommend it!
Nightlife Tip : Malacca is a town of 2 parts - Monday to Thrusday it is quiet with limited night life. Friday to Sunday the coach loads arrive and with them the night life/markets etc.

bad view from the window.
The hotel was surrounded by some old and dirty buildings which made people feel dissatisfied. The room was clean but small with bad view from the window. it was 20 mins walking distance to the famous sightseeing place. The staffs were friendly and willing to give you help on taxi but the price were expensive than others.

The Hotel was very well maintain, clean and room was very nice and spacious. The Guest Services directory is very well written and proof read.
Great food and room, the housekeeping attendant greeted upon arrival (when she park her trolley
and starred at you and greet) Fantastic...
The impression of the receptionist was not prompt and professional. No greeting, no eye contact, no facial expression and can't find my name although,
I present the agoda.com voucher to him. I have senses that the name was mispell in the system.
When I re-confirm that I've call to check before hand, he shiver and mentioned to me got my name.
No apology was given. Given twin room although,
I told him that we are couple.
Go up the suite and contacted reception. No prompt reply nor advice by a lady who answer my phone. Came down and approach the same receptionist (Malay Male) and he quickly change the room without a word of apology and no anticipation of closing, require to improve on service as Frontline.
Ask on suggestion given on Hotel F&B outlet - only
provide Olio - should provide at least 2 suggestions and cuisine preferance.
F&B outlet (breakfast did not post in the bill, until I honestly informed the reception that I
had 2 breakfasts - communication breakdown btw
Front Office and F&B, require lots of improvement and communication and overall services.
Great Hotel to stay with as nice Hotel Lobby and rooms - overall impression was great and live up to 5 Star experiences, however, very much required to improve on their overall service experience as this make a different with other Hotel. If I was to choose again, I may consider to come back to stay here or Equatorial as the location is very strategic - in the heart of Malacca Town, nice food around viccinity, good facilities, eateries and nice room.
Hotel Management may look into higher desk for the receptionist and train the staffs to promote the Hotel overall facilities and services.
No doubt - the room and the lobby create a memorable experience, no regret of staying
in Renaisance despite failure in certain
aspect of service. Will definitely make
return the next visit!
Restaurant Tip : Farmosa Chicken Rice Ball near the Hotel

Nice location, helpful staff, swimming pool. Nice , tidy rooms with view over Melakka and the strait of Melakka. Price / service very high standard.
Nothing I could notice for this short period.
The Hotel is very close to most of the interesting things to see in Melakka. The staff is very helpful and helps you to get around. The hotel arranges sight seeing tours with a guide through Melakka. Breakfast is ok, rooms are nice and tidy. We had to check out at noon but we could leave our stuff and once we returned after a last wander through Melakka all sweaty we could still make use of the shower and towels at the pool. The bell boy arranged this together with our drive to KLIA. All very impressive and a very nice experience. Worth to go there and to come back.
Hotel Feature Tip : Pool is nice and the staff is helpful.

5 stars hotel, not very expensive
Far from shopping centre, the road leading to the hotel is always jammed.
Its quite an old hotel, but the room is quite big. Nice toilet, but occassionally you will be able to hear sounds from other rooms maybe due to poor sound insulation. It is also quite far from the main shopping centres, you either need to walk as most of the times the road leading there is always jammed.

- Nice big rooms.
- Good scenery.
- Nice swimming pool.
- Good hotel service by staff.
Only had a coffee at the in-house cafe - ordinary!
The location of the hotel is great - some nice round the corner restaurants. Nice big rooms, cosy swimming pool and goood service staff. I accidentally left a pair of shorts in the room - was very impressed that they kept it for me, when I returned a few hours later. Excellent service!

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The gym and pools were superior. Had a very pleasant stay. The saleswomen at the souvenir shop was very friendly, she made interaction with us although we were just looking around in the shop.
The services were bad. At the arrival, there was no one at the lobby to help us with the parking direction. The reception were unfriendly. They did not welcome us although we put our luggages at the seat in front of them. The receptionist keep staring down.
If you are not going for services with the staffs in the hotel, the room at this hotel is very comfortable. The rooms were very clean and had their standard quality control. (I have booked 3 rooms for this hotel) The view is good, I can see Melaka river from all 3 rooms. There were special television programs and internet service. The business room was sharp. I recommended this hotel for business usages.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you walked further, you'll come across Melaka River. You can take a boat ride. Along the river you can see a very different sight of Melaka.
