Very good hotel in jungle. Very sympathetic staff. Free transfer from and to airport. Big room with huge bed and balcony with chairs. You open the window and listen to all sounds of jungle. Very good dinning and bar. The swimming pool is not deep but it doesn’t matter after the whole day in the jungle. You can choose massage procedures, this is also very good after the day in the jungle. I stayed there only for 1 night but I will advise it to my friends as I didn’t feel any uncomfortable moments.

This is like arriving at a jungle town on stilts with great river views and large comfortable rooms. It's not easy to achieve a well-run place this in these conditions and they do a decent job. However, they should listen to the occasional complaints of guests about the rather insipid buffet (done much better elsewhere) and its well-intentioned but rather corny entertainment shows, especially since guests cannot avoid any of this. There is an appealing pool and the whole complex is just a few minutes from Gunung Mulu park so it's possible to see the caves and canopy walk from these surroundings. These longer walks require going to the Camps though.

A jungle town on stilts, great river views, appealing pool, just a few minutes from Gunung Mulu park

Fairly ordinary (and compulsory buffet), simple (but large) rooms, some less than keen staff members, the whole Barawan rip-off issue (read up on it)

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you want to do The Pinnacles walking tour and the caves, you will need a minimum of 4 nights here: 1 in the hotel, then 2 out, then 1 when you get back.
