1. It is very good value for money. 2. An excellent resort for families, as children love riding the waves. 3. Staff and friendly and generally speak good English. 4. The breakfast and dinner buffets are quite good. 5. The villas are extremely cosy, tastefully decorated and comfortable. 6. Close enough to KL to make a long weekend trip do-able.

1. The food at the a la carte restaurant is not as good as it should be. 2. There were a lot of flies. 3. The air conditioning in room 101 was not cool enough. 4. The fridge in room 101 was not cool enough.

This is the fifth time I have been to Pangkor Island Beach Resort. I tend to go with my two young daughters - aged 11 and 13 - because they absolutely love the beach, which has good waves for bod-surfing. They also enjoy the food, which caters to their tastes. Pasta dishes at dinner and the burgers/hotdogs at lunch are real hits. Although the sea does not have good coral for snorkelling, it is a good swimming sea, and you can spend hours in the water. I would, however, recommend going off peak season because during school holidays, the resort is packed and the restaurant can get very crowded at breakfast and dinner.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you're going as a couple, the Villas would be a great choice, as they really are nicely put together.

Excellent service Clean facilities Clean beaches and excellent location for the hotel

Restaurant proved to be a bit expensive.

Pangkor Islands is the island to visit if you are in Malaysia. The Pangkor beach resort is the best deal I got from the Internet. The resort lived up completely to my expectations. The resort is located in a very beautiful location with clear beaches and hills on either side. The beaches are very clean and the resort has most of the facilities like bike rentals, water sports etc. The only negative I found about this place was the restaurant. It is not possible to go out of the resort for dinner and the restaurant in the resort is pretty expensive.

Great place, lovely scenery with tropical forests and unspoiled clean sea with white sand. Relaxing.

Good and clean resort but not luxurious. There is a near by top end resort in Pangkor Laut and in panang but they are costly. Try and avoid going during the school holidays, as you would expect it will be then busier a bit more noisy.

Malaysia is great, organised, advanced and clean. You will find everything you would expect to find in a top end first world country. Transport was easy too. We used a company called Mayflower (they have a good website). The trip from KLIA to LUMUT took three and half hours and cost 400 RM, the Jetty is cheap and punctual, and the journey to the island took half an hour. Pangkor is a lovely unspoiled place, the resort is clean and comfortable and the staff are exceptionally nice. There are options for water sport activities and group games, even karaoke. If you just want to relax and do nothing, you can do that too with comfort. All an all we had a great time
