small hotel with good location

this hotel for me is wuite good.but Since the building is very old, it would be expected that the interiors are a little worn out. The beds smell a little musty, but fortunately, no bed bugs! Also, the toilet is not up to my standards. The aircon was also a little weak in the room we stayed in, probably because it's a large room. but overall is ok.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
for this hotel,The walkway is nice and charming, The garden between the main block and the rooms is sweet. There were no unpleasant or musty smell throughout. this Hotel is located in Penang's Georgetown neighborhood, close to Gleneagles Penang Medical Centre, Fort Cornwallis, and Wawasan Open University Main Campus. Nearby points of interest also include New World Park and Chew Thean Yeang.

Some people said location is good, food around the corner and t is true. But in Penang, everywhere is food. So this is not the point.
We can walk to old town, around 20 minutes.
Hotel gave me the wrong room with two bed the first day, and it did not look like 300ft. The good is they gave me back next day a big bed room but the size of room is same.

Real Heritage Hotel with service with a smile
Location is near to all the attraction of Penang; Decent Room, Nice Breakfast

1926 Heritage hotel is located near to all the top 10 penang attraction like Penang Hill, temples, Gurney. actually we can say centrally located. Hawker shops and malls are near within 3 minutes walk.
We were on short stay and really impressed with way in which they maintained the hotel without loosing the heritage charm with all modern amenities. Unfortunately, because of our short stay we didn't get a chance to use the pool; eventhough we just passby and felt well maintained and clean.
Receptionist Mr. Jai was really helpful and friendly with great smile.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't ever use tour service available at the hotel; he's only interested sending you to some jewellery factory, Coffee factory, Chocolate factory, etc. luckily, we didn't fall in his trap. Do your own research through trip advisor, or any other website about penang and where you wanna visit and ask Mr. Jai to arrange a taxi for you where ever you wanna go; metered taxi's he arranged were very friendly and reasonable.

I travel often to Penang and when it comes to getting a place to stay, this hotel always comes to my mind. It is not a perfect hotel but I like the environment which makes me feel at home. The hotel staff are pleasant and helpful. This is a hotel for everyone.

Great location & vintage bldg..
Vintage design, location is right at the heart of georgetown

if you're focus is on sightseeing, then go for this hotel since the location is right on georgetown. the hotel is sorrounded by restaurants, hawker stations, spas, tourist spots & malls.
the interion and exterior design of the hotel lives up to its name of 1926. the ambience i get is very vintage, especially in the hallways.
the rooms are very spacious, bathroom is satisfactory but the mattress on the extra bed is very hard.
Travel tip:
Try the hawker stations beside this hotel, bak kut teh & coffee is very good.

Not Really Fantastic
Historical – an old colonial British building

It was old colonial building, I stayed there for 2 nights. It taking quite a long time to checking in. Need to give deposit which able to refund when u check out. A lot of food stall and eateries nearby.
Cleanliness is just so so and this hotel is a bit antique feel. A bit run down especially the doors. The room was fairly clean and functional.
