All in all, the hotel offers great value for money. The location is great with good amenities. Having said so, in quite dissapointed with two things: 1) the cable TV inside our room does not cater for a sport freak like me so i eventually have to go down to the common TV lounge to watch my soccer match; 2) Our king size bed is a combination of two beds that create lumps in the middle of the so called king size bed.

The location is good with a nice pool and near to the bustling local night bazaar.

The room is kind of old which in my opinion needs refurbishment. Our king size bed is a actually a combination of two beds that created a lump in the middle.

I can honestly say that this hotel is worth every penny and could not fault much about it.

Everything you could ever want in a resort hotel and more. Staff friendly, rooms enormous and very clean.

Restaurant - slow in service and not very well cooked but with all the restaurants outside the hotel that are cheaper why would you really want to eat there anyway. This only applies to the evening a la carte menus

  • Restaurant Tip : If you decide to eat out from the Hotel in the evening you cannot go far wrong with the Happy Garden or the Boatman. Both excellent value for money and extremely friendly. Try the sizzling prawns

Spacious rooms, only really seaview is expensive. Go there if you like breakfast! The pool and the garden is so nice. We are travellers but stayed a week longer just to relax.

Great pool, staff and breakfast was really excellent.

You have to walk about 10 minutes to town, but it's really great to walk.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Butterfly Garden, take a cab, walk to the bus and take this back to the hotel, really cheap.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and found the location perfect. It is far enough away from Georgetown and the last hotel in the Batu Ferringhi beach area. We enjoyed this because it a truly relaxing time, nice and peaceful. The poolside area was well equipped with a good sized swimming pool and an expansive recliner area, there was no need to go down to the beach to swim. We also liked that when we did walk through the hotel gardens to the beach we weren’t bombarded with hawkers trying to sell us knick knacks. The onsite restaurants are great, with a nice variety. We went for evening walks and found many restaurants along the bay that were quite a bit cheaper than the hotel with excellent food. Overall our stay at the Bayview beach resort was most enjoyable. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient.

Good range of on site activities and off site tours. Excellent buffet breakfast.

The foyer needs to be freshened up with some colour.

  • Restaurant Tip : There are some excellent seafood restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

The foyer and pool area were lovely - great food - a nice hotel over all.

  • Restaurant Tip : Eat with the locals - cheap - fantastic food and the water is fine. The people are very friendly.

The hotel was great. Rooms terrific and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is on the beach and has a great pool too. There is a local bus out the front which is cheap but takes about 3/4s of an hour to Georgetown. The markets are just down the road at night and there are plenty of restaurants in the immediate area.

Hotel has great food and great pool.

Bit far from GeorgeTown.

  • Shopping Tip : Between The hotel and Georgetown there are plenty of shopping centers and the local bus from the hotel will pass most of them.

The Bayview Beach Resort Hotel is beautifully designed to impart a feeling of spaciousness - no cramped little foyer here! Staff are extremely helpful and smiling comes easy. The main restaurant has a wonderful outlook to the large swimming pool and extensive, well manicured gardens. Plenty of trees in the gardens afford shelter during the hot sunny days. The sandy beach is ideal for that early morning walk and is generally well maintained. The Hotel is handy to the local bus service and a taxi rank is opposite. There is an abundance of restaurants nearby and enough nightly market stalls for the most insatiable shopper. We have stayed at the Bayview on many occasions over a long period and still consider it the best value in Penang.

Large open design, pleasant dining areas, large pool with plenty of lounges and chairs, large well-kept gardens, right on a beautiful sandy beach, handy to transport, restaurants and night markets.

Menu largely limited to Malaysian cuisine and little on offer to Western tastes.

  • Nightlife Tip : Take the bus at night to the food stalls and night markets - it's only one or two ringit and beats walking on non-existant footpaths.

I stayed in this hotel a couple of years back and it was OK. I now think it has deteriorated both in terms of service, which is very slow, and facilities. The entire hotel has a "tired look" and could do with a complete refurbishment, like other neighbouring hotels have had.

  • Travel tip : Stay at the Bayview City Hotel - a much better option for anyone who really wants to discover Penang.
