Walking distance to Komtar, abt 15 mins
There's a girl band at the lounge... Quite entertaining and the voices are good

initially had a hard time looking for the place. take bus 204 and alight at malaysia hotel. after which, have to walk some distance to get to the hotel. hotel looks presentable. also near to the red garden cafe... there's also singing there...
Restaurant Tip:
Along the way to Komtar (via walking), many eating shops.. Food is good...

Great location
Hotel is located only 2-3min away from the Georgetown Free shuttle bus service (bus stop 7). This makes it easy to see the whole of Georgetown.

on check in, the staff was kind enough to give us free upgrade for the 2 rooms that i booked for my parents and my wife and me. staff was helpful and they always do it will a smile.
layout of our floor of stay was a bit inconvenience. we have to walk a big round to get to out rooms. that is until we found a short cut thru the stairs next to the lifts, have to go thru 3 confusing door way for the short cut.
breakfast buffet selection is moderate but enough for us.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
To explore Georgetown take the Free Shuttle Bus Service. Closest one to the Hotel is Bus Stop 7. Bus only goes around in one direction so pick up a free map from the airport or Hotel. Bus service runs from 6am till 11plus at night.

needed to change rooms due to unpleasant tobacco odour.
shower leaked over the floor and the safe did not work. no mini-bar available, except on order. tea and coffee supplies not generous.
the meals were great and good value.staff were attentive and very pleasant. our room was comfortable and quiet. we were pleased to get a check-out extension.
on balance we would stay again.

for atmosphere and authenticity, visit the night market and outdoor foodhall [access from penang road via a carpark]

good location for shopping and selection of local food.the facilities is well taken care off and the staff are very helpful and friendly.good for family vacation and enjoyment.the room is spacious and have a nice view of the open sea that can soothe your eyes and feel relax.parking space is limited and the garage pathway is very small have to be careful when driving up to the parking area.

Quite a traditional looking hotel. Nothing fantastic and very basic. The room was big (deluxe) but the furnitures were lacking.
The sandwich I ordered was horrible and very expensive. for 4 cheap looking sandwich slices with fries. I left most of it on the plate.
When I called them, they said there was only deluxe room @ RM340. I went online to Agoda and booked a standard room When I went to the hotel, they gave me a free upgrade to the deluxe room. Nice loophole I found !
Restaurant Tip:
Eat anywhere but the hotel.
