large building located on side of main road. rooms are large and spacious. clean toilet/bathroom. dining section is spacious and clean. friendly and helpful staff. walking distance to shops and restaurants. room service food was excellent. take a walk to chulia street for more restaurants. soho is 2 minutes walk away. easy taxi access in front of hotel. well positioned for doing daily tours in penang. take a 25 minute taxi ride to bayview beach resort and enjoy a swim and a foot massage by the beach.
Restaurant Tip:
Sri Malaya Restaurant, off Chulia Street, near Air Asia office was great.

Good hotel with its style
It is a hotel with style, staff is friendly and efficient.
8.3
Bayview hotel Georgetown in Penang is a good hotel. We took a taxi from the airport and cost around 40 ringgits. It is near the sea and we booked a room with the sea view which was beautiful. Check in procedure was smooth and efficient. Staff was friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Air conditioning and hot water was good. There was problem with our door lock and the in room safe. Staff quickly attended to but they cannot fix it in short period and they changed the room in the upper floor with better sea view. We paid a bit more for the breakfast and was quite good with both western and eastern food. Room appeared clean but we saw small cockroache in the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The hotel is in walking distance to ‘Blue House’, Kuan Yin Temple, Kapitan Keling Mosquie, Sri Mariamman Temple etc. there is also a Hop on bus stop not far from the hotel. But many local people are using it so it is always packed.

Had a wonderful 3 days 2 nights stay at Bay View Hotel during 13 - 15 Apr 2012. We got a free upgrade to Premium room (level 14 - 16), even we did not request for it. Asked for early and late check in/out and was approved without question asked! Friendly service!
Famous night life are located around the hotel. However,if you want to visit other sightseeing town, it is best recommended to hire a car, rather than taking their public transport.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hire a car!

Great location. Excellent Service.

Top Hotel. Excellent location at top end of Penang Rd. Walk to attractions in Georgetown. We had a room for three. Spacious. Clean. View to Komtar. Good rate on special offer. Excellent Service. Hotel arrange car hire, parking at the hotel.
Staff pointed out Red Garden Food Court across the road at Lebuh Leith. Penang is famous for its food. We had the chance to try them. So good. However did not have a chance to try the revolving restaurant. Always out. See you Bayview until next time.

Clean, pleasant and quiet location
7.3
Not the easiest for getting around the city without own transport. However, the staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Try to do the sights yourself-tours are overpriced and the trishaws are a much better and cheaper way to get around the city of Georgetown. Better still, get those walking shoes on and go by foot!
Kek Lok Si temple is not to be missed.

Centralised location with friendly service
We chose this hotel because of Easter. The cathedral of Assumption is just across the Hotel
7.7
A good thing that this hotel is near pranglin mall and Chowrasta market where you can purchase tau sar piah and the popular nutmegs. We met a few friendly penangnites who recommended us great food nearby our hotel. One thought us how to travel by bus as taxi is quite expensive .
Restaurant Tip:
You must try the food at Tek Sen restaurant at Carnavon St. It's a popular restaurant with the locals and the food is good and price very reasonable
