great price for what i saw.. mess was not so attractive in food manner. the good of the Hotel, it is few steps away from different types of restaurants and bars. 10-15 minutes walk distance to Komtar mall. you also can take a Taxi for 15MR to the Gurney Mall which is located and faced the beach pavement, gives you a chance for walk exercise or shared the talk with loved one.
bad thing that Internet is very expensive. Mess tables are not instantly cleaned up and kept ready for another customer. ala carte food are not well prepared or not so tasty.
Restaurant Tip : variety types of Asian cheap restaurants are just few steps away. also few bars can be reached with no time just behind the hotel.

Doesn't look much like the hotel's website. Flooding in the bathroom. The hotel was quite old. Although the room was big enough, it was very basic. The best part about the room was the shower but then we found out a bit later that the water leaked into the bathroom and stayed there for the entire stay. If you are looking for a party place, this is it. At night, there are arrays of dance clubs, sport pubs, pubs, gentelmen's clubs in the area (less than 3 mins walk). If that's not enough, you can try the club inside the hotel as well. We didn't try the spa but the price seems very reasonable.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hawker usually starts at 5pm.

superb location, reasonable rate, room size is huge. car park lot during weekend. We were in penang for one day business trip and never thought of leisure,but only to find out there are so many F&B outlets around the corner after checking in to the hotel.If you are not the beach type of person then I will strongly recommend you this hotel. LOTS OF FUN... Will definitely go back again.

From room to look the scenery of the sea- it's very very beautiful. Not so much parking facilities.
Improvement- Welcome drink/juice may be added. It's Beautiful. Don't go for the picture as it does not show the real beauty. Rooms are nice, wide and clean. We stay there only one night and we got great service. Pool is one of the best place to be. Its breakfast is also very nice. I will definitely go back again with my family when I will be there.
I found Lunch and Dinner menu are slightly expensive.
No one can realize how it is until reaching there. The staff always cleaned the room and beautiful reception area. I will recommend everyone to stay there

Excellent location relative to airport and downtown Georgetown. Room smelled musty and their was a mold buildup on the corner near the door. Even though they claimed Wireless in room, their was no signal any where on the 10 th floor. This visit was my second to the Bayview hotel Georgetown, the other being in 2008. The service is very good and the staff very polite and helpful. The hotel rooms need a makeover, carpeting, drapes etc. The band in the lounge had their amplifiers so high that I could only stay for 5 minutes the volume was absolutely painful. The real drawback though was the dowdiness of the room, I am not sure that I would go back even though the Agoda price was very good.

spacious room and bathroom (with bathtub), good seaview only mode of transport is via taxi unless you don't mind walking 20mins to the bus terminal or renting a car to drive around the hotel room is spacious (including the bathroom), has good view too. overall the price is good for the room quality if i had booked earlier as i missed having a double bed (they combined 2 single beds instead). the revolving restaurant was fun but food in the hotel is quite limited and time sensitive. the area is rather quiet at night and only accessible by taxi unless you don't mind walking. if you are looking for a relaxing trip (no sightseeing) then this hotel will be good as they also have spa/massage, mani-and pedicure, facial and hairstyling services within the hotel.

Clubs and bars right next door
Rooms faily big Hotel and rooms a bit dated Right next door to the bars and night life area of Penang. Close to Malay Coffee shops, however chinese food coffee shop is a little further away about 2 blocks. Reasonably priced hotel and room offering bars and restaurant facilies as well as gym, pool, spa. Pool, gym and spa are not bad. Reasonably priced hotel. Was a bit slow on tidying up room had to ring and ask.
Restaurant Tip : Offers a luncheon 4 course ie soup, main, ice cream and tea or coffee for $10 ringgit ++ very reasonable.

Friendly staff in all areas. Lobby lounge was welcoming and comfortable. Great location with shops within walking distance. The rooms were well appointed, comfortable beds and feather pillows. In room safe and hair dryer was not working.The rooms are a bit older but are well appointed. If you drink coffee you may want to ask housekeeping for extra. You can also request additional toilet tissue from housekeeping. There is no ironing board or iron in the rooms. However, having your clothes dry cleaned at the hotel is not too expensive. 5 of us stayed in 2 rooms, we paid for an additional bed in one of the rooms. We included breakfast in our 10 day stay but in retrospect would probably preferred to save that money and spend it shopping at Penang bazaar. There are plenty of little cafes nearby that serve cheap local food. We found the staff were very helpful in assisting us with any of our enquiries. Taxis and trishaws are located outside the hotel. We found that catching the buses added to the trip and our two teenagers learnt a great deal about the culture and local people through mingling with the locals. Buses are also a lot cheaper. Breakfast at the hotel was buffet style and especially helpful if you have two teenage boys to feed. We also experienced Hi Tea at the hotel which was buffet style as well which managed to satisfy two hungry teenagers. During our whole stay there was never a mention of not having enough to eat and in fact, at times, the offer of dessert was turned down… amazing!
Shopping Tip : Penang bazzar is located in an alley off Penang Road. There are plenty of clothes to choose from and we found that it was cheaper than the night markets at Batu Feringhi. However, the night markets are worth the trip as the prices are still reasonable. A 101 bus from Penang Road or Komtar cost $2.80 each but just make sure that you have the right money as the bus drivers do not carry change. If you are looking to buy gold jewellery then Campbell Street has a lot of jewellers.We received great service and prices from Sang Yuen Co. located at No.30 Campbell Street which is the street before Penang bazaar.

Rooms good view of harbour.Value for money.Polite staff. Even though i arrived at the hotel at 5pm one of the rooms was still not ready till 6pm.Rooms look outdated but generally clean.The location is far from popular malls like gurney plaza and taking taxi would cost you about 15rm to go there.But hotel is really good value for the price you pay.
Shopping Tip : Go to gurney shopping centre.

central location, pool, quality room and fixtures. externally unable to improve a good looking building.
knowledgable and attentive staff. good value price point. big group check ins, nice but relatively expensive revolving restaraunt. nice quality food buffet but again a bit overpriced. stayed 4 nights in october with intermittent showers. hotel centrally located to historical features and tourism central points. good bayview / town view. good standard room generally and fair price point. friendly staff but may be punted at group stays as many large group check ins - but we were off season. overall well worth a visit and we would return if we go back to penang.
Restaurant Tip : red garden food hawker centre is a must close by to bayview......

location, views over georgetown, staff, pool, price point. little to complain about. good quality stable 4 star hotel in perfect location for an enjoyable tourism or business related stay in penang. nice pool. mid oct showers otherwise weather fine. helpful staff. gd quality room fixtures. great views. close to all significant tourism locations and chinatown.
well worth considering, fair pricing means high quality room and location at reasonable price point.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : hop on and off free central tour bus from jalan penang to get a grip on the area 1st .....

The hotel has very good location, you can walk to townhall\little india\chinatown. The room is a bit old equiped.The first room had some noise of the air conditioner,I complaint to the reception, then it seemed they couldnot fix it,so they changed another room for me after half an hour. Because of Very good location and See view Rooms Staff should need to be more guest friendly We really enjoyed staying athe Bay view hotel Particularly our room was spacious. Since it was a see view room it gave us a lot of pleasure.
Afternoon tea with songs was very enjoyable and the food was less expensive.
We will recoomend friends this hotel for stay while visiting Penang.
We wish all the best of the hotel and request the Management to keep up the standard.
