My stay at Campbell House was very enjoyable. A redeveloped colonial building, cleverly done up in a vintage-modern style. The staff are friendly, and its location is a great set off point to enjoy what Penang has to offer... food and culture.

Everything about the Campbell House is laudable. The rooms are decorated tastefully and everywhere you look in the hotel you'll find something special, interesting and meaningful. The Venetian restaurant on the premises serves the best panacota we have ever tasted.The Torresella Refosco is a must try wine. Everyone, from the proprietors to the chamber maids where very friendly, professional and helpful, they give the impression that they do care about the guests and the place, and they will happily advise on different culinary spots which you must pay a visit to before leaving Penang. The whole house has a fantastic vintage feeling throughout and they even have a rooftop beautifully arranged with sofas and cushions. The location is also perfect and you can walk everywhere. All in all, a 10 out of 10.

One of the best places I have stayed at. Small hotel in the city, thoughtfully designed with fantastic staff - friendly, helpful, but not over attentive, making it a very relaxing place to stay. The staff were able to give lots of recommendations for places to visit and to try the different ethnic foods available. Campbell house also has its own great restaurant (Italian) and great breakfasts also.

A Treat in Georgetown

The owners, Nardya and Roberto have restored this small hotel to its former glory - it is situated in the center of Georgetown which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. They make each guest feel personally welcome. The staff are not only courteous but extremely helpful especially when giving information as to what attractions to visit and options of travel as to how to see them. Although they recommended several delicious places to dine in this multi-cultural city (which we took their advice), we discovered that one of the hidden restaurant gems was in fact their own restaurant which serves Venetian food from recipes handed down to son from his mother. The food was magnificent. Also, a treat from a bakery comes every afternoon to be enjoyed with the complimentary fruit drink placed in our refrigerator- something delicious and different each day. Those little touches set this hotel apart from other similar hotels.
