Once a while a boat pass tbrough - no heavy traffic. Quiet atmosphere. The staff leaves you alone unless you ask for them. Just walk and you get to savour various food. Ideal for a peaceful time away from the norm.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ask for an island tour customised to your needs. A private car takes you and the driver gives you an live commentary of the place you get by. Value for money. (tip: Ask for Raymond - excellent guide that takes you round)

Friendly helpful staff Bathroom could do with a face lift compared to the rest of the hotel- but still clean and nice I stayed here in Sept 09 booking on the internet about 30 mins before I checked in. The hotel is in a good location, not far from anything. I checked into this hotel as the noise where I was previously staying kept me awake 2 nights in a row and I need some decent sleep! Although the Cititel is in the middle of everything I could not here any noise through the window at all and there is an amazing view ( I was on the 7th Floor). The hotel has a pool with steam room and sauna and a small gym too.
Restaurant Tip : Good night market across the road for local foods.

Room is good -- do choose 'Superior w/ Seaview';
Location is excellent;
Taxi service is good, can charter a limo to many places at a reasonable price. Internet needs to be improved My girlfriend and I stayed in a Superior, Seaview romm and we really enjoyed it. Room service/cleaning is good. We love the location of the hotel as we can easily walk ('berjalan kaki') around to many kopitiams/foodstalls as well as komtar.
Restaurant Tip : Walk out of the hotel, turn left, walk for 5 min, can find a foodcourt called Red Garden. It is open in evening and the BBQ fish and eggplant are must-try.

everything at this hotel include hotel parking are everage pass. But the location of hotel suitable for us are not so familiar about penang. lobby of hotel are clean and tidy, out look of hotel also very attractive. hotel room not clean,expecially for the bed cover at blanket are dirty. room carpet also dirty. service for the reception counter are not friendly, once we request king size bed before we check in they ok, but when on that time we check in they say no room with king size bed. they never inform us, but they try to give me a lot of excuse. for my opinion , i think cititel group must train their staff become alert and profesional. dun let their staff spoil our trip and also their hotel.for me staff must always be smiling to customer. somemore , safety for this hotel also not safe, expecialy at car parking. my point is dun have any security at the parking, the lighting at parking also not enuoght. we duno what will be happen to us once at parking floor. if not wrong, eventhouth dun have any cctv.
Nightlife Tip : close to this hotel , have few pub and disco are together.the building are call (boon siew). walking distance only 5 to 10 min.

Located center of Penang town-Penang road.Very easy access to the ferry/pier and other main area and attractions. The CTV in the std.room. It should upgraded to a 20" CTV screen. Cititel to me is a fine, well design,and a well managed hotel.The staffs and all other personels of Cititel is helpfull and friendly.The carparks of Cititel is also ample.I would definately recommend Cititel to any visitors.This hotel is my many stays during my visit to Penang.
Restaurant Tip : Nasi kandars along penang road. Chinese foods at ceceil st./kimberly st./macalister rd./burma rd.

location, breakfast, view from the room, bathtub i stayed here for two days. honestly, as a backpackers it's a bit expensive. but all the things in this hotel make me satisfied. espcially i loved the bathroom with a storng water pressure and good bathtub.
breakfast was also good. but the other restaurants in this hotel are expensive i think. over all, i satisfied!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : komtar(bus terminal) is located in 10 min walking from the hotel and you can go anywhere in penang from komtar.

good central location, near to local food stalls. friendly counter staff. well kept rooms. no negative comments on hotel software.buffet breakfast provides a good spread. rooms a bit small. single arm chair in the room is of poor quality - shaky and seat cushion so thin you can feel seat bottom. a good value for money hotel. you feel comfortable staying in this hotel. do not mind staying in the room. will be better if hotel can introduce more tv channels.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : rent a car for a day. program your gps for food and sightseeing locations. drive round the island, go across Penang Bridge and return via vehicle ferry, visit Kek Lok Si temple, Khoo Kongsi clan house, butterfly farm. walk around town on 2nd day. go to beach 3rd day. you have full programme/

1)Price is reasonable and affortable.
2)Basic requiment all fufilled.
3)Location is at center of the town which is very convenient. 1)Hotel did not inform me I can claim back parking fees, so I did not claim back.
I will still choose to stay at Cititel Penang if I go to Penang again, the main reason is the price is very attractive as I booked through Agoda. I also recommend some of my friends to book hotel from Agoda website, they also benefit from here.

Embience in the room is good. This is my second time staying. It is very comfortable to stay in this hotel and i have brought my colleague along this time. The hotel is good for us as a business trip to Penang. I enjoy the hotel pool very much. The location is great. I can find good food easily around the hotel. I will definitely go and stay again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk and look around the hotel area. You may find many good and cheap food.

Cititel had a good location and has quite a number of good restaurants nearby. The only dislike is the room too small and they have only two levels of non-smoking rooms. I require to have a connecting room but they are so limited.

nice sea view room, clean room, nice spread for breakfast, good central location for exploring georgetown area. we managed to get a nice sea-view room on 1 of 2 non-smoking floors but had to settle for 2 single beds instead of a double bed due to limited double bed configuration on non-smoking floor? however, though we were on a non-smoking floor, we did find cigarette butts in the trash bin tray beside the lift.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the free CAT shuttle bus service stops at a near-by bus-stop opposite the hotel with access to komtar, jetty area, banking street (beach st), padang etc.

location is good, near the heritage trail. value for money. hotel looks nicer than exoected. cant complain with the money i paid for. the hotel is located right at the heritage trail. there are sites that are just within walking distance from the hotel. this is definitely a good pick if you dont mind a less full-service hotel and with a reasonable cost. when you start the trail, we turned left at the street, started with the cemetery and walked towards cornwallis. overall, nice experience.
