Great design of the building.Near to coffee shops which is just a stone's throw away which provides excellent food.Around 10 mins walk to komtar shopping centre
No swimming pool except for the jacuzzi.Cramped room if you were to put in an extra bed.Not many choice of shopping centres the rest are far away.
Internet room closed on Sat and Sun.
The location is pretty good if you are looking to try the local food as there are alot of coffee shops just outside the hotel which offers chinese , muslim and indian food .However if you are looking to shop the only shopping centre that i know of is komtar . The rest of the shopping centres are located very far away . The internet room in the hotel is closed on saturdays and sundays which is a very bad thing as tourist needs to use the internet almost everyday . i feel that the internet room should be open 24hrs as this way , tourist can freely use the internet to do their own things.

It is ina good location and restaurants are close by. it is near the happening of the town.
the breakfast room wa slike a market. Need more staff to handle the crowd. the spread was nothing great.
The hotel was neat and tidy and it was value for money. the food was okay . stayed for only a night so could not visist all the restaurants. Located in a good spot and the conceirge peole were very nice.
I would recomend this hotel and it is worth for the money.
Very far from the airport but all hotels are very far .
Nightlife Tip : very good for night life... everyhting is close by

Overall a nice experience during my stay in this hotel, good location and easy access to highways. Excellent service from their frontdesk but poor alertness from their bell-boys. The rooms are small but well equip with basic necessity. Wireless available but costly. Nice Chinese restaurant at ground floor, nice food.
Hotel Feature Tip : You can get wireless at the Coffeebean, just need to buy a drink. Cheaper than paying for wireless in hotel.

The location. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Some desk staff were unaware of hotel facilities, especially room facilities.
There were initial uncertainties because one member of the desk staff did not know what was available, but that was cleared up. The room was fine, with fridge, air con and a ceiling fan.
Another member of the desk staff gave incorrect information about internet access, but this was also sorted out.
Otherwise the hotel was just fine. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, including a large covered hawker centre diagonally across the road.
There are two laundries not far away, which are MUCH cheaper and quicker than the hotel service. One can be seen on the first corner on the left hand side as you stand outside the main entrance of the hotel looking directly down the side street. The other is in Chuilia Street, which begins 200 yards to the right of the hotel. Turn left down Chiulia. About 150 yards down on the right hand side, there is a sign painted in red on the footpath. You turn off and walk 20 yards down an alleyway between slum dwellings. The laundry is signposted. It is worth going there just to see the hovels some people are forced to live in.
Hotel Feature Tip : Hotel can lend you an umbrella if it rains. It rained for most of my stay.

excellent views - close to the sea and shopping mall
small room, not many tv channels, lift card didn't always work!
not bad for the price - soho bar next door was good and lively. botanic gardens worth a visit - give the snake a miss - hardly any snakes!
Nightlife Tip : soho bar - good music - good service

Its located in a very strategic and busy area. very near to Komtar & Prangin Mall, as well as those markets selling the local specialties (eg. tambun cakes, junk fruits, coffee, etc.) Traveling out from the hotel is also very convenient, easily accessible to other area like gurney drive, beaches, bayan lepas and airport.

Near the ferry and in the main road. Great location.
Found it expensive, no toiletries supplied in the room.
I was disappointed with this hotel. I was amazed that no shampoo etc. was in the room as it is not a cheap hotel. The internet charge was a rip off and they have no pool which in downtown Penang would have been great. It is a good location as the bars and trendy restaurants are nearby as well as Chinatown. Food prices was very expensive.
Nightlife Tip : If you have a laptop go to the nearby bars and cafes where the connection is free.

Hotel is strategically located. Hotel staff was polite, breakfast provided was good & service was fast.
Not sufficient parking space.
Overall the 2 nights stay at the hotel was good, where the staff was pleasant & friendly both at the reception & also at the dining area. With the exception of the limited car park, the hotel is strategically located where the access to church, shops & Priangin Mall was within reach even by walking.
Restaurant Tip : Found the famous "Nasi Kandar" which was located at the corner near to the Hotel.

Nearer to prominent places like Penang Road Chendol, Upper Penang Road entertainment outlets, Macalister Road Food paradise and a distance away to Gurney Drive.
1)People found smoking in the hotel lobby without attended by the hotel floor manager / offices(Until i informed then they take action).
2) I've photos taken for 2 cigarette butts outside my room 1104 floor. Seeming that somebody is smoking outside the hotel room and without considering others safety. IT IS DANGEROUS!
The first and important thing to be reviewed here is TOTAL SAFETY and SECURITY PRACTICES at the hotel. I felt happy and glad to stay there BUT it is disappointing at last. I hope all these can be improved to ascertain everybody safety and the hotel reputation in times to come. I would like to see and hear all these concerns with the measures to be taken care.
On the other hand, for those advance booking with internet with family especially with kids below 10, King size bedroom should be reserved for a better accommodation. I believe it could be a PLUS service provider.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Providing some sightseeing services for the elderly or the occupants with reasonable price.

The Cititel Hotel is what I expected from a 4-star hotel. It has a large, impressive lobby, and large clean rooms. The staff were efficient and friendly. There are several restaurants in the hotel, and they are quite reasonably priced. The only negative comment I have concerns the gym. It is very small with a very limited selection of equipment.

Good location within City.
Rooms need to be fumigate as cockroach running around.
Excellent location within the City of Georgetown and walking distance to many places interest such as Sleeping Buddha, Kek Lok Si temple, Penang Hill, Batu Gerringghi and plenty of hawker food stalls, nearby to ferry terminal, pubs and Chinese & Western restaurant. Not to be missed is their famous local food such as Nasi Kandar, Ice Kacang/Chendol, Asam laksa, Char Kueh Tiau.
Restaurant Tip : Hotel Coffee House has one of the best Nasi lemak in town.

Locate in the center of the city, with walking distance to get the famous foods in town; and some night life activities area.
Slow Attending to their guess. The Air Condition is Not Cool Enough.
Bascially is a resonable price and reasonable quality stay hotel. Unfortunately, during my check in, the front counter service staff is quite slow in attending to their check in guess.
Due to I only stay one night for my transit flight, the same encounter at least two times of power trip in my room, after calling the front counter, then the maintenance guy only attended to fix up the problem.
Overall, still may be consider as reasonable quality hotel to stay on.
Restaurant Tip : You May Get Some Good Local Foods Around as Compare to Gurney Drive Area.

Arrived mid afternoon and spent most of the eveneng with friends so only spent a few hrs in this hotel. The check in/out was great, as FoH is run by Chinese, so even though a wedding was on I was given a fantastic room with a view. Everything else, run by Malays, was crap. Wasnt allowed in the gym in gym gear !, concierge couldn't recommend nightlife, room service took forever etc. In addition the aircon leaked like a sieve, the internet was a bit expensive. I probably wouldn't stay here again if other options available.
Restaurant Tip : Walking distance to Upper Penang Rd, the entertainment, eating hub in the area.
