Lovely hotel but the view was partially blocked by The Cove, still it is overlooking the sea. Good room service, polite and friendly staff, fast check in and out, affordable price if extend the check out (RM20 per hour), outdoor parking was insufficient and indoor parking was a tad dodgy looking and the guards are only based outside.

Copthorne Orchid Hotel Penang is also well equipped with extensive banquet facilities. The hotel is geared up for any kind of events, be it small boardroom meetings to large incentive groups.

Nice hotel but a little run down

The hotel is situated between the Ferringhi beach and Georgetown city, so very convenient. Hassle free check-in, managed to give me 2 adjoining rooms. The rooms are clean and cosy but overall the hotel looks old and run down, not what I would equate a Copthorne hotel. It has a nice clean private beach, good if you are looking for solitude and getaway. One small problem is parking. There was a wedding when we stayed there and the car park was full. Even though I parked my car in a proper designated parking lot, the next morning I found someone has scratch my car when they were leaving the dinner party the previous night. My car was parked right in front of the guard house and nobody is aware of it.

The hotel is located away from the town area and near shopping centers. A short drive and you find yourself in eateries (especially Gurney Street).
During my stay in the hotel, there is a wedding function at night. You will expect no parking lot when you come back. But surprise, surprise, the security actually allocated a lot for me.
Overall, my family enjoyed the hotel and the trip.

When we arrived at the hotel & parked our car, there was an unpleasant smell at the carpark area. There was also no signages to lead us to the hotel lobby. Finally when we found the path to the hotel lobby, we were greeted by friendly hotel staff who were very courteous and helpful. Check-in was speedy. The rooms were clean and had some view of the beach & sea. It would have been better if the beds were a bit firmer. Overall, reasonably pleased with our stay although we found the hotel needs a bit of refurbishing and it has the old feel. Good value for money.

It was a nice hotel and I'm welcome with a smile at the front desk. The lobby looks good and still well maintain. The room was clean and quite. It's great that I get a seaview room and I can enjoy the view of sunset as well. Will come back for my next visit to Penang.

Strategic located along the ferringi beach. Old hotel but the room is clean and tidy. Private balcony allow you to enjoy the sunset and sunrise sea view. Toy museum is just in front of the hotel.
