Great hotel for such reasonable price

quite close to gurney plaza shopping centre
even allow us to use carpark for free
definitely will consider staying at evergreen laurel again next time in penang

Good average hotel with a city life location!

Evergreen Laurel Hotel Penang is a 30-minute drive from Penang International Airport and 9 km from Penang Bridge and Batu Ferringhi Beach.The hotel itself was clean as was the bedroom.

Nice Hotel

i have stayed in evergreen laurel hotel many times, like it from the beginning but during my recent stay, quite disappointed with their staff services, drop and no longer as friendly and helpful as before.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
For those who loves sight seeing and sea view plus shopping which there's a gurney plaza about 10 min walking distance away

Average Hotel and Lovely Bed

Good Service and good bed, but sometimes the night time get a bit noisy cause of outdoor cars. Services is good but the mineral water provided is chargeable which is RM 14.00. We have asked counter, they said do not need to pay for the mineral water, but after that they charged us for that. Not Good.

Pleasant hotel to stay on esplanade,walk to seafood restaurant along esplanade, coffee beans and starbucks close to hotel 2 or 4 minutes walk. Good breakfast choice. Didn't eat in hotel as there is the famous Penang food to try.

We have a good short stay in the hotel. Highly recommended for couples and family with kids as it has spacious room and well maintained cleanliness. Great location for sightseeing, eating out, shopping, etc. Nearby Gurney Drive Hakers Centre, Gurney Plaza, and less than 10 minutes drive to newly open harbour front Straits Quay. About 15 minutes drive uphill to Batu Ferringhi beach.
Restaurant Tip:
Walking distance to GurneyDrive Hawkers Centre where they serve all locals delicacies at affordable price. Just next to the Centre there is Gurney Plaza, just a great shopping centre. Seafood centre and beers is few doors down the road, BaliHai. If you think about doing nothing, just across the street from the hotel there is a pathway fit to walk along the beachside.

Well maintained hotel with goo location
Very near to local restaurants nad pubs. Within walking distance to Gurney Plaza and Gurney drive but far away enough from the traffics jams

Its a well maintained hotel with courteous staff. If you prefer restaurants and pubs, there are several at the nearby Gurney Hotel. If you prefer local restaurants, there are several like Bali Hai along Drive. If you were to walk further down along Gurney Drive, you will reach Gurney Plaza shopping centre and right after that, the famous Gurney Drive hawker stalls.
Right in front of the hotel is a walkway with is perfect for evening walks with the beautiful seafront.
Only complaint is that wireless access is pretty much non-existant but there is free access via a plug-in cable. So be warned if you are using a tablet computer like the iPad.

Hotel has improved since previous visit. Hotel has a newer, cleaner look. More professionally run. I enjoyed my stay there.
