Good Location with Great Price
Clean, Location is great, and easy to find food

This is my fifth stay at evergreen, Once I had to visit Penang, I will stay at this hotel. Room is clean and comfort, unfortunately this time they're painting the exterior, so we had to close the windows during day time.
Rest is ok, breakfast is great.

i was in business trip last week and i extended my stay in penang after i have done my work.
i was a great hotel, the location is so convenient, and i dont have to worry what to eat, because the food tall are all around the hotel area.

The stay was short, only for a day. The impression of the hotel is clean and is location at right in front of the beach. It is near to the shopping area as well and lot of good food can be found along the beach walk.

Lovely hotel and good service

this is the 3rd time i stayed in this hotel. during this stay, i find the staff to be hospitable and helpful. the hotel location is quite good, facing the sea. if i had time, i would go walk along the seaside during sunset, i'm sure it will be a pleasant walk. there are some eateries within walking distance, which is a plus.

i was in business trip last week an decided to stay at evergreen hotel so i dont have to worry about supper and breakfast, and during weekend i can also visit gurney plaza..its only 10 mins walk:)

Clean room & friendly service!
Good location, seaview & walking distance to famous hawkers centre & shopping centre.

It's one of our favourite hotel in Penang. The beautiful Gurney Drive stretch is a plus. Good for morning jogging and evening stroll. Eateries such like open air hawkers to bars, crepe/pancake house to seafood restaurant are all located along here. We enjoyed staying in Evergreen Hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
Most of the restaurants or hawkers stalls are along the Gurney Drive. The food is good.

Did not live up to 5 Star billing

During check-in we were told a baby cot would be delivered to the room later. After checkin-in we decided to go to the pool as we had been on the road the whole day only to find the pool closed for maintenance. When we booked, the pool was indicated as available and even during check-in no one mentioned that the pool was closed! We later saw a note posted on the side of the lift saying the pool was closed and to compensate us for that inconvenience, we were awarded 2 cans of coke! Excuse me? - swimming pool for 2 cans of coke? I don't think so! It was such a disappointment and it was sneaky for the Hotel not to make it clear during checkin-in that the pool was not in service even though it is advertised as being available. Never mind; we decided to hit the beach instead and was again disappointed as the sea was terribly polluted. We ended up having a soak in the bath! After dinner we returned to the Hotel late - almost 11.30pm and was disappointed that the baby cot was still not delivered. We were so tired and the baby was asleep so we decided not to even bother with housekeeping. In the morning, I was looking forward to my cup of coffee and reading my morning papers but discovered that I was given a Chinese Daily when I requested for an English one. Anyways, I just didn't bother to complain as by then I was just not impressed with the service. We dined at the restaurant/cafe in the lobby - food was below average and I would recommend you eat outside the Hotel instead. Well, apart from the above, Hotel room was decent and comfortable and clean and location was excellent. Ample parking which is free and that is good. Overall it was ok I guess - they just have to deliver what they promise and it will be a 5-Star experience.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Make sure the pool is in service if that is important to you and your family during your stay.

located in a better part of penang, however the hotel could do with a bit of remodeling as i feel it is starting to loose its luster.
for a business traveler its a good stay and i recommend it for the price.

hotel location is convenient but it could be even more perfect if they can have a shuttle service to town or bus terminal.
coffee house food is below expectation..eg:(a)seafood beehoon soup comes with frozen seafood (b)sinchow fried beehoon is sweet and sour. very disappointed especially when you just arrive from airport with a hungry stomach.
the only good comment is the staff is very helpful and friendly
