Not 5 star but great location
Great location fronting Gurney Drive

For the amount paid via Agoda, I would have been better off at G-Hotel. Evergreen Laurel Hotel is definitely NOT 5-star, but about 3-4 star rating. Its location is great fronting the famous Gurney Drive, nearby plenty of food and beverage outlets & nite life activities. The rooms are kind of tired, but comfortable enough for sleeping. Free coffee & tea making faiclities with 2 bottles of water on the house. Did not bother to try the restaurants as there are plenty of local fare restaurants outside the hotel to enjoy.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Always look at other options for value for money deals if looking for Hotels within the same locality.

The location is great as it is located in Gurney Drive and plenty of food and beverage outlets along the road. Room was ok, nothing spectacular but the good thing is the hotel is clean and comfortable. The room came with Internet connection via LAN connection. Hotel concierge was great but room service needs to be faster with in-room orders.
Nightlife Tip:
Enjoy a nice walk along the Gurney Drive at night as it is full of life.

Been staying here upteem times already , though is quite an old hotel , but well kept and well located in Gurey Drive with many shopping and eating places , will never get bored as you can just walked out to get drinks to enjoy the seabreeze . Swimming pool is rather small for a 5 star hotel like this , perhaps should make it more bigger . Anyway , still a good hotel with nice lobby and cafeteria , cosy to have breakfats there .

evergrren laurel hotel looks old but reasonably well maintained. hotel is located along the gurney drive waterfront and nice breezy walk to shopping centre and food centre. the room is average size with free tea/coffee making facilities plus 2 bottles of drinking water on the house. my room came with free wired internet. near to plenty of food establishments, if walking is not a problem, one can choose to take a slow walk to the gurney food stalls area where they have plenty to offer.
Restaurant Tip:
Song River restaurant, just a 5 mins walk from the Hotel. Its serves good porridge & steamed fish for breakfast. A bit pricey but it tastes goos.

Though it was touted as a 5star hotel, it wasn't at all 5star in terms of ambience, appearance and facilities, probably a 4star would suit it better. G hotel which is a few minutes walk away would fit the 5star description.
Nevertheless, it was a pleasant stay for us, beds were comfortable, rooms were well maintained and teh surroundings was peaceful.
I will definitely come back to Evergreen for the room rates, I think it is quite value for money, although if given a choice I would have stayed at G hotel if it was cheaper.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Sea View was not worth the extra money, there was nothing special about the sea that you would be tempted to draw your curtains to look at the sea.

I was a bit disappointed upon checking in because though I did not make any request upon booking for adjoining rooms, the check-in staff could be more helpful to assist in checking its availability. Instead, he commented that I should have requested for it upon making my reservation.
