Good value for rather centrally located hotel for the price paid. We were given ocean view rooms, with great view of the open sea and new Straits Quay development to the right. Sea is right next to the hotel, which is separated by a two-lane street and tree-lined wave breaker. There are enough food choices nearby to meet different budgets. Breakfast is convenient with a number of Bak Kut Teh (chinese pork rib soups) shops right next to the hotel. Further down are two dim sums outlets. Gurney plaza is 20 mins walk away. Slightly further down is Gurney drive which is a busting night market which most of Penang's local delicacies like Fried Kway Teow, Penang Laksa andRojak under one roof. There are a couple of popular sea food outlets, one of which has extensive display of life seafood. I would recommend this hotel for a city stay in Penang.

Overall, a decent hotel for the price we paid. The rooms are big and clean. Love the big and fluffy towels. Only complaint is the buffet breakfast menu needs to be improved. Imagine there is no sausages, ham or bacon for breakfast on the buffet table. Also bread is only limited to whole meal and white bread slices. I was expecting at least some baguettes,sweet buns or rye bread. Other than these, can't think of anything unpleasant about the hotel. Will come back again if the room rate is right!
