my first experience was there was no bating towels for both of my rooms. request for towels, but they sent hours later after several calls i made. i dont quite like the joining bed cos it tend to creat gap inbetween..(if you know what i mean). but one thing for sure the room is very spacious. that is the only thing i like. we also had a bad experience at the beach. got bitten by jellyfish. the hotel should put up a warning sign!
Shopping Tip:
the hotel location is strategic. it is close to ferigghi and town. And lots of eating places.

Cleanliness & hygiene need improvement

Cleanliness & hygiene were in question. Bed sheet was stained. My butt developed rashes and itchy till now though is serious now. Also having problem to find parking space at night due to the dinner function held there.

The room we had was excellent: spacious and clean. The beds were excellent. No complaints about the hotel except they were short on front office skills. The food was okay. Both can be improved further. Will definitely stay there again.

I've stayed alone for a week there. it's ok level of resort hotel near the beach and they have swiming pool and great ocean view. I liked friendly staff and it's convenient to travel to the downtown area.

Excellent hotel and service
Separation of shower and toilet by a glass panel in the bathroom. Excellent facilities including variety of food for breakfast. Also, no charges for 2 children under 8 years for breakfast

The hotel is located between Georgetown (city) and Batu Ferringhi (beach). Public transport is cheap if you don;t mind waiting. The people are friendly and more than willing to help.

Worst hotel ever!
Local bus service is accessible from the front of the hotel which is 1 good thing.

This hotel should have been demolished years ago. Its a budget hotel that you pay far too much for however if you are a family with children the kids club and swimming pool seems to be very popular. So if you want a romantic getaway or just something a little bit nicer - avoid this hotel.

let's start with the positives; very well placed between batu ferringi and georgetown, taxis are reasonable at average to these places. our balcony on the 14th floor (sea facing) had an excellent vibrant day feel and a beautiful and relaxing night time view. (strangely, no balcony furniture)! booked a last minute spa treatment and was not disappointed - very personalised and good value treatments - not to be missed. penang itself is a fantastic little place with quite a few things to see and do, museum in particular was excellent if you're interested in understanding penang's heritage. bad points; service not quite there. have been lucky enough to stay in many hotels over the last few years around the world and this is probably the poorest experience in terms of the overall feel and service. 1st room we checked into had a strong smell of smoke and as we were traveling with our toddler we asked for a swap. i made it clear the reason for swapping, and was moved from the 7th to 14th floor. the room was better, but the cleaner pointed out to me that the 14th floor was also a smoking floor, turned out the non-smoking floors were fully booked. disappointing that i had to find this out from the cleaner! in our room, the safe was broken and in the end they could not repair so we had to use the safety deposit box down at reception, not a major issue but a bit of a pain. there was no bath tub although i had requested it, and i had to ask for a baby cot, although again, i had requested in advance. at night we felt like there were insects in the room and we had lots of bites each morning. in the morning there were often lots of dead insects in the corridors that had not yet been cleaned. overall the place just had a tired feel. if you are looking for a budget break and not spending much time in the hotel but not looking for luxury this could be your place. for a nice luxurious break however, i would not recommend.
Restaurant Tip:
Indian opposite serves a great extensive menu at very reasonable prices. For a more expensive experience you can go to the hotel next door (Paradise Resort i think it was called), there are tables almost on the beach and the menu has a good range of western and asian dishes. Staff were very friendly and welcoming with an excellent service manner.

Great Location and big rooms
Very near to tourist places in Penang

We stayed 3days 2nights at 2 bedroom suite and satisfied with big 2 rooms as well as living room.
Very good hotel having swiming pool in the shade of mountain especially morning time and afternoon starding from around 4~5 o'clock who want to avoid sunburn during swiming in the pool and beach in front of hotel.
However one thing to be improved is breakfast which was poor as a 4 star hotel.

The hotel isn't as nice as the pictures show. Mainly because the decoration and furniture in the hotel lobby and room is kinda old. The attached beach is not really that clean, and sea water isnt clear. However, it has all neccesaries and the hotel will be a decent choice if the price is reasonable.
