Great Hotel And Good Location

booked g hotel through agoda, stayed for 3 nights.
once the taxi reached the entrance, help were there w our stuffs and checking in was done fast and greeted warmly by the staffs there!
room was big and very comfortable. room was very well decorated and we had a good view of the swimming pool. bathroom was clean and huge. there was a big table with free internet services provided and all stuffs in the mini fridge are free.
location was fanstatic, next to the hotel was a huge shopping centre and best of all, the local hawker centre was just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. getting a taxi from the hotel is not a problem at all as the taxi drivers are waiting at the roadside but got to confirm fare first as they do not use the meter.
overall our stayed at g hotel was very satisfactory and we strongly recommend it.

my sons thoroughly enjoyed the free kitkat that are replenished everyday. the room was spacious enough for our sons to run around in the room. its also strategically located to gurney plaza and night street market that sells local delicacy. our experience @ g hotel has been a fulfilling experience that is worthy for a next return visit.

We booked a room with two beds but when checked in, were told that only king size bed was available and we have to pay for an extra bed for our children. After we insisted not paying for it, all of a sudden, a twin bed room became available. It was a bit strange. We stayed 3 nights there. The room was roomy with a nice view. Staff does a good job cleaning. The lobby was big and hip.
Restaurant Tip:
You walk towards the right side of the hotel, there are lots of restaurants and cafes. To the left about 5 minutes, there's the biggest Hawker food court. We did both and they were fantastic.

Much better than I thought

I was very pleasantly surprised at this hotel. We chose it as my parents wanted something modern - in previous trips to Penang I had tried the E&O (old world charm but getting old) as well as Shangri La Rasa Sayang (very overpriced for the quality of room). The location on Gurney was also attractive as it is just outside Georgetown and not 45 mins away like the hotels in Batu Ferringhi.
The G surprised especially on room size. The rooms are enormous. A friend had warned me that the furniture was a bit cheap in quality - it certainly wasn't the nicest and most expensive furniture out there but it was elegant and good enough. The bed was comfortable and the quality of pillows was good.
The hotel has a volumounous lobby and is a stunning centrepiece in itself. Most importantly, it was wonderfully air conditioned which was very welcome after a day sweating it out on the streets seeing the sites and eating at all the hawkers who are non air-conditioned.
Overall, I would stay here again.

Nice hotel and very comfortable stay. Stayed with my wife and baby and we enjoyed our stay very much. The staffs are friendly and helpful but the front desk can be a bit slow at times. The bed is big and comfy and the the bathroom is new and spacious. They even provide Aigner shower gel & shampoo and also body lotion.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A lot of suggesting spots nearby such as the sleeping buddha temple. Near shopping mall and also a hawker centre with tons of local food

it was nice to spend 2 nights here and the rooms are especially big. minimalist design will no frills. probably a little too big a room. bathroom is also big and it'll be nice to have bathtub though. fantastic lobby design with very high ceiling. too bad can't have the 'sea-viewing' rooms. overall good experience.

I love the stay at G Hotel as this is my 2nd time staying there. As the trip is more for relaxation, we simply love the facilities at the hotel such as the pool and the gym. As for the room, the housekeeping is great as I am very particular on the cleanliness of the room, i really think that they did a great job on the cleaning part. Overall, thumb up. Great hotel despite the pricing is higher. It is still worth the $.
