Restaurant Tip:
There is a seafoood resturant dwn the road calledBali (from the right of G hotel), food is freash nd good!

Spacious rooms, friendly staff

We were at the hotel during the Chinese Lunar New Year. Hotel was fully occupied and everyone was busy. Despite that, the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a pleasant surprise that Azlan (hotel porter), remembered us when we unloaded our luggages from the car. The view from executive lounge, located on a high floor, was magnificent. It overlooked the sea, hence it was calming and relaxing. All-in-all, it was a very enjoyable stay.

Overall is good! Location hotel is Easy to find food to eat! Beside the hotel have Gurney Plaza Shopping Complex so good shopping there!And opposite have a beach so can jogging there after dinner!Only the difficult is the traffic very jam!

My family loves this hotel,we always stay there whenever I bring my family back to Penang to visit my folks.
We always stays at the executive floor as my kids like to hang around the lounge and the missus can just spend the whole day next door,which is quite a good mall.
The swimming pool is not so children friendly but this is a business hotel anyway.
Love the way the staffs tend to my children's need.

Location is just perfect

My son booked this room for us whenever they travel back to Penang from Australia so that we can be with the grand children rather than travel back and forward from the mainland. It's right next to the shopping mall thus my daughter in law will be happy and the Gurney drive hawker food is just right next door.

Good and nice hotel

good and nice hotel. location is good and suitable for family to stay. especially the hotel's swimming pool, is a very good and nice place for children. not only is near to shopping complex when hungry also can find local food easily. the only thing is the room that stay is excluded of breakfast and the charges of the hotel's breakfast a bit too expensive.

Nice snazzy hotel but...

We've stayed at this hotel 3 years running, in various room types, during the Chinese Lunar New Year period as we are visiting relatives. In that time, we've found the hotel more than adequate as a short time stay. It is well located beside the touristy Gurney Drive food centre and Gurney Plaza mall. The rooms are fairly large and comfortable and service is surprisingly good. The executive room is no bigger than the standard room, but includes an iPod dock (which didn't work in our room!) and breakfast included. It also allows you access to the executive floor for free drinks from 6-8pm and free use of the executive lounge until 10pm at night. The in-room dining was adequate, but I'd advise getting food pre-11pm. The gym was excellently appointed and provided a good view.
However, there have been certain small things that make it less than perfect. For example, the iPod dock was broken when we got there, and it was "fixed" the next morning to no avail. (The staff was responsive, but ultimately ineffective!) The main phone in the room also didn't work on the 2nd day. The bed was extremely large (2 super-singles somehow stitched together) but somehow a little too stiff. I wanted to watch a soccer game (that the in-room cable did not provide) late at night, but the front desk could not recommend a place to watch it. I had to find a location for myself (a bar called EuroCafe right next door). Housekeeping did not clear a cover left from room service and a 3/4 finished can of drink.
Restaurant Tip:
Get the standard rooms without breakfast, and go out and find some breakfast on your own! The street food in Penang is so good that you really should minimise your restaurant dining.

a good hotel for family stay. can have a good time with family, children enjoy playing in the swimming pool. the staff in the hotel is very friendly and helpful. the only thing that not satisfy is my room come with no breakfast and if want to enjoy the breakfast in the hotel, the price charge is a bit expensive therefore caused us to have our breakfast outside the hotel. overall the hotel is good and nice to stay
