The hotel was great, food was good and staff was very kind and friendly. The pool and garden next to the beach is just a wonderful place to spend the morning after breakfast through lunch.
The only con was having to return to work.
The hotel was very clean and the chamber maid greeted us every morning on our way to breakfast and asked if there was anything else we needed in our room. The view from the room overlooked the garden and pool area to the sea (great view). The restruants offered a varity of food and the staff was very helpful in explaining the local dishes (a must try). The hotel is located near the night market and there are also many other eating places on the street that are good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The butterfly farm and garden are a must to see.

Very close to the beach where it takes only 1 min by walk, lots of interesting small shops around a hotel.
Nothig special, but the only a bit inconvenient is
that the location is rather far from the airport.
We family stayed and had a birthday party for my son. The restaurant could arrange a birthday cake for him, and some of other guests in the restaurant kindly sang a song for him with us.
We had an unforgettable party which however was small.
Travel tip : Although close to the beach, it is not so good for swimming due to a lot of jellyfish.

The position is good. It is right on the beautiful beach. You just need to stroll though the pool area to reach it. It is on the main road, close to bars, mini marts, restaurants, bus stops, KFC, night market, etc. The lobby and restaurants look good.
My room was not to my taste at all. The furniture was really old fashioned. It was like walking into your grans house or a timewarp. I found that aspect depressing. The carpet was very shabby and my room smelt musty. The mini bar was unstocked. However this could be because hotel was full so maybe I got a room that isn't usually used. I found the pool area was crowded and rowdy.
I stayed in this hotel for one night as the other hotel Id been staying in, The Parkroyal, was full. It was 26th Dec so I had to pay over the odds. It certainly wasn't worth it. Perhaps coming from the Parkroyal tainted my view slightly, as I was very disapointed with Golden Sands. It looks quite flash from the outside and communal areas are OK, but my room was awful. It did have everything you need, and was clean, but it was old fashioned and worn out. The pool area had a kind of Butlins feel to it. It didn't have the relaxed, tropical ambiance I would have expected. Although if you have kids I guess they will enjoy this. I certainly couldn't relax here, so I had to go to the beach. For some reason they don't have sunloungers on the beach here, so you have to lie on your towel.
