Nice Hotel and great location

Is a beautiful hotel with big room, especially the swimming pool side is wonderful. The hotel is near the beach with walking distance, my children enjoy to play the sands very well. A lot of activities can do at the beach. For family trip this hotel is highly recommended.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A lot of good restaurant nearby the hotel. There will have a night market/shop along the road.

Good location, friendly service, nice pools

Our checkin was quick and the room was clean. We had a wonderful pool and sea view from our room. The pool was clean and even my baby enjoyed as the water temperature was just perfect. However, Food variety was not wide for room service and also at the Sigi's bar n grill.

Great location but hadn't realised it was a hotel more suitable for families. Having said that we had a great time at the hotel. Staff were terrific and made a fuss of my 88 year old mother to the point that when it was her birthday a cake was delivered. Very nice!

Truly good hotel for travelling with children,very friendly reception and the concierge service.
However house keeping need to improve a lot always Missed something and need more deep cleaning for sure.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Children will like the play area, nice size of Swimming pool.
Great features with very short game 9holes golf course.
Very friendly and well trained staff.

The dissapointing part of the hotel service, the bath towel was not provided upon our check in. We had to call for the bath towel.
The next disspointing part, the pool towel was not available when required. We had to wait over 30minutes.
But the staff are general very polite and service oriented.
The hotel management need to view to improve on their logistic.
overall, we did enjoy our stay in the hotel.

Great Location, awful housekeeping, terrible food

It was our second stay at the GSR and once again it was a disappointing experience. The deluxe hillside rooms are claustrophobic, water from the bathroom leaked into the room so we upgraded to a seaview room (after due payment). We had to request for the room to be made up pretty much everyday, the turn down service in the evening was as good as not there. The food is simply awful !! We tried the dinner buffet, simply a let down. This is a surprise given that Penang is synonomous with food.
The hotel was very crowded. The location is awesome and the kids club are perhaps the only positive aspects.
Travel tip:
Chinahouse in georgetown is a lovely restaurant. We loved Anand Bhawan for India food and ofcourse the hawker food was awesome too.

The hotel offers rooms with awesome sea view and good swimming facilities. Hotel staffs are very helpful, they always greet you with their brightest smiles and this makes me feel warmth and delightful like i'm back to where i belong. I will never feel bored throughout my stay at the hotel as i can join the resort's official water sports, such as jet ski excursion,wakeboarding, banana boat rides etc.
It would be great if the hotel provides complimentary slippers in room and comb as well.

Nice beach resort at Batu Ferringhi
Popular beach resort with nice relaxing atmosphere at a good location

A great place to stay if you want to enjoy a relaxing experience away from the town. One of the popular beach resorts at Batu Ferringhi, this property has a private beach with lots of actions and activities. The room I stayed in was not huge but cosy and had a nice ambience. It is also conveniently located with lots of shopping right at the main entrance. There is a big hawker centre just a short walk away. There are also two 24-hour fast food restaurants (KFC and McDonald's) opposite the hotel.
