Amazing resort! Will stay again with whole family!

Absolutely amazing hotel resort. The Golden Sands Resort was very well worth it. The first night we arrived there (4 siblings travelling) we were having a late dinner on the sand when fireworks from a function lit up the sky 50 metres away. The resort has a very family friendly feel to it and the facilities are convenient. The pools are certainly a highlight, we played water games with other people staying in the hotel facilitated by the staff. Great vibe and design of the resort, will most definitely stay again and bring our parents!

Nice hotel, great breakfast in the morning. But there were a lot of people staying while we were there and it can feel a bit over-crowded -- ok if you like that sort of thing.

Beautiful hotel and great location
Service was excellent and rooms were spacious.

We has a wonderful weekend stay. The staff were very helpful. It was also great to have access to the Rasa Shangri- la restaurants next door.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The heritage walking tour in Georgetown is a must.

Restaurant Tip:
Good choice of restuarants nearby eg Thai seafood place. But Sigi also great if wanting to stay in.

Excellent hotel all round
Right next door to beach, friendlly staff and good for kids

i found this a great hotel. excellent family amenities and very friendly & efficient staff. the garden / pool backs right onto the beach. there are several smimming pool areas including some designed very much with children in mind- shallow and with excellent sun shades much needed because the sun in january was fierce). we couldnt have asked for more for children - also an excellent and large interior adventure area with great slides and activities if you want the kids to get out of the sun for a while. the hotel fronts onto one of the 2 main roads and plenty of eateries including hawkers food areas, stores, etc. there is as regular free shuttle bus to goergetown (about 45 minutes away). the staff were very good. i left my mobile phone there and they agreed to courier the same to kl "on trust" that i would pay the charges. all in all. a very pleasant and relaxing stay and i wish we had stayed longer.
Travel tip:
the hotel is located at batu ferringhi which is about 1 hours taxi ride from the airport and 40 minutes ride from georgetown. bf is certainly nothing special as a town, but there are very good beaches and it is as good as anywhere as a base if you want to tour. the main attractions in bf are the hotels themselves.

A Sunny weekend spend in Shangri la, Penang!!!
Nice landscape, the service is good.

stay for 2 nights, spend 1 night have buffet in the hotel. the seafood buffet taste good! although a bit pricey but worth. The room is clean and new.
Nightlife Tip:
do some online research for Penang. there is a lot of nice hawker food in the town.

Nice hotel with excellent service
We had a comfortable stay and loved the buffet breakfast.

breakfast and extra bed was free for our kids ages 8 and 10. After checkout we were given the option of using the pool and showers and stay as long as we liked.Food at their restaurants is very good and prices are comparable to any of the restaurants outsideadventure zone is a lot of fun for kids.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Take a two day passport for kids at the adventure zone that comes with play at the zone for 2 days with free t-shirt ,2 lunches,2 softdrinks,2 hagendaz ice cream,2 popcorn, segway ride and discount vouchers for sigi bar and grill.so worth it
