Confortable room but buffet breakfast is bad

I booked this hotel due to the name "by Shangri-La'. The room is comfortable but it is quite noisy for hill view rooms. The buffet breakfast does not even meet the minimum requirement, which is clean and served hot. Due to open air concept, there are flies in the dining area. The waffle and pancakes are hard and cold.

room - comfortable, but the bathroom needs serious refurbishment. there are stains everywhere. curtains are a big no no ( especially since its considered a shang group of hotels)
location- smack by the beach. stalls and shopping just a walk away from the entrance
food - we had breakfast. huge variety.
if you re there with kids, its a big bonus. there s a adventure park within the hotel. giant slides.
pools - nice pools. there s one with a shade for those avoiding the blazing sun.
beach. - clean enough
all in all, a great family hotel

Family friendly Relaxing beach resort
Centrally located to local shops and restuarants, good facilities for a family holiday and staff were great

Our stay at Golden Sands Resort by Shangri-La was a very pleasant one. We travelled as a family of 4 with 2 children ages 12 and 9. The resort was well catered for our family it had all facilities for all of us to enjoy. Will definitely stay there again and will recommend to friends and families.

The hotel is in need of major renovation, the room was dark and damp and noisy.Internet very slow. If you care about breakfast - not bad, lots of choices.

The hotel itself was very nice. I loved the buffet breakfast but wasn't that impressed with the dinner. The beach was pretty, but the water isn't clear. Definitely take a cab from the airport to the resort instead of using the g the resort transportation...less than half the price!
