Near Supermarket and easy access

Alittle old and looks cheap

The hotel is in a very good location and within walking distance to Komtar if you need to do anything with government offices. There is a nice supermarket just across the street that you can buy your daily needs. The hotel does look old and a little rundown. The food in the hotel restaurant is not very exciting, breakfast is not very inviting and unless your room rate includes breakfast it is better to eat out.

Breakfast

Hotel needs renovation, rooms look so old,TV channels are all Chinese or Malay, no english channels, it was so boring.Hotel staff were not so honest, as they had said that they do have wireless internet at the time of check-in, but after check-in found that there have major issues with wireless internet and they lost their internet connectivity about few weeks back. They attract the customets by liening to them that they do have internet. They keep telling you the charges for internet connectivity, despite the fact that they know that they do not have internet access. I booked this hotel for 2 weeks, but I stayed only for a week. I will never stay in this hotel again.

waste of money, the only good thing is Breakfast, as am Vegetarian, so I liked their breakfast, other than that, staying in this hotel is just watse of money.

Shopping Tip : Komtar and Prangin Mall is very close to the hotel. The rapid buses are available to go around for sight seeing. The location is very good. No eating problem etc

Location in the center of Georgetown, close to Komtar bus station, price was affordable, swimming pool nice, good friendly service, breakfast buffet.

Room a little old, amenities in room moderate.

Very nice hotel located in the center of Georgetown which is the historical city of Penang. Love the fact that it was near Komtar Bus Station which made my traveling much easier. For the price of the room, I cannot really complain much. The breakfast buffet was all Malaysian style & is decent. In fact, I did not notice any western guest while I was staying there. The staff were all able to communicate in English & it helps if you are friendly with them & they can be a great assistance in helping you navigate the city. Believe me, I asked them a bunch of questions. Swimming pool on the 23rd floor is a nice touch. There are other hotels much cheaper in this city of course without a swimming pool & buffet for the really budget traveler & there is another much more upscale hotel beside Komtar (Traders Hotel) but I do recommend this hotel even if the rooms are a little old.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : This is a historical small city, bus station is walking distance to hotel, easy way to travel to destination around the city. Even have a free bus service within the city limits to promote tourism.

Great stay, if you are a budget traveller Guest Rating: 6

Good Bed, clean.

Free Sauna was not working, could't get hair dryer, broken telephone line, leaking bath room, very very hard pillows.

Well, this is a nice play to stay, if you are a budget traveller. But I guess there will be better places to stay in at a more reasonable price. It's convenient near to the new shopping centre in Penang (Times Square) and KOMTAR. Though the cons are more than e pros, i'd definitely come back to stay here again!

Good location.

Need refurbishment. Basic amenities looked tired and old. The doors squeak. The staffs are rude and lazy. Only one old towel with two holes for deluxe room.

This place may have been a three star hotel, but that was a long time ago. I don't think it even deserves a one star now. The hotel and basic amenities looked tired and old. When we check in and ask for non-smoking room with two bed, the receptionist just respond that we will got a one king bed. No explanation. Our rooms' and the bathroom's door squeak. We stay there for two night and only got one old towel. When we check out in a hurry and tell the receptionist that we need help since we may late for our flight, because we mess up our time with local time, he only respond without looking "Everybody was late for airport."

Close to Komtar.

Bad Housekeeping. Lacks Cleanliness. non responsive staff.

Hotel was a big letdown. At this price there are many options available. Swimming pool was like a big bath tub. No filter. My son got an eye infection. Hotel staff does not respond to telephone calls. Very poor house keeping. Very small rooms. Breakfast quality below par. Unfriendly staff. Location too a big downer. Not Recommended. Better Avoided.

Friendly staff. Close to Georgetown Shipping malls, China Town, Little India. Efficient Tour Organiser located in hotel lobby. Good breakfast.

Room not regularly cleaned. Room furniture and equipment very old and used, damaged and not refurbished (including bed). Leaking ceiling in bathroom. Erratic service (towels not replaced, carpet not cleaned, mugs not washed, etc).

This hotel has a very convenient location at walking distance from main shopping mall (Comtar, Prangin) and even from China Town and Little India if you can manage the climate (was ok for me coming from a tropical island). The bus station is also not far and bus travel makes a good ride to discover the Pinang island and at the same time travel to the beaches (Batu Ferringhi), we even came back from the Batu Ferringhi Night Market by bus ! HOWEVER the room (we booked superior room) was inadequate in terms of the furniture and the lots of un-repaired fittings everywhere including the bathroom. The room cleaning service was also deficient regarding cleanliness, proper towels replacement, etc. A good point is the breakfast and the efficient tour organiser in the lobby.

Shopping Tip : Very close to main Georgetown shopping malls as well as to China Town and Little India (if you can manage the climate for walking trips...)

Reasonable price and location. Close to bus station.

Generally tired. A long walk to any interesting nightlife.

Before arriving it was clear from the outside that the hotel was a few years overdue for a paint-job, which more or less gave away its condition. It felt tired. Fittings and towels were old, the TV had no English language channels. The breakfast buffet was shabby (as breakfast buffets invariably are).

Free parking.

Inefficient housekeeping.

Check-in around 11.30pm, given Room 1410 - bathroom door could not open, requested for room change. Second room given Room 1412, a tray of 'wood charcoal' was found placed under the dressing table. Giving impression some kind of 'voodoo' rites were held in the room before - gives a eerie impression. Since it was late, promptly removed the tray from the room. Impression was that housekeeping was totally in-efficient as all these should be noticed when rooms were being cleaned and tidied. Shower hose was leaking.

Good location.

Not modern. Need development.

When we arrived, we had difficulties with our reservation, 1 day in advance not enough for this hotel. I`ve ordered de-luxe room, what is the difference comparing to superior i still can not understand. Was tired and didn`t want to complain about anything. In the room there were no towels, had to call and wait for the personnel to bring it, which made extra inconveniences when u`re tired after long trip and need just take a shower and go to bed. No express laundry. Internet is 10 ringgit per hour which is the main ridiculous thing in such pretended to be a hotel in 21 century. In conclusion i can say, that hotel is ok, just ok. As for me i`ll never come again there. For the same price i could better recommend for example hotel of Malaysia (clean, simple, good location, nice personnel, good view from upper floors too), mingood (even with less stars not worse in common). For those who could spend more i would really recommend BayView hotel, which costs it`s money.

Close to Prangi mall where I like to shop. Has a nice pool & a great view of the city.

Pool not open early enough. Not my type of breakfast.

When we arrived at this hotel there was a couple of minutes where they couldn't find my reservation. But with the hotel voucher, the situation was sorted out quick. The view was excellent from my room and was clean & tidy. Did have to leave early so couldn't have a swim in the pool, which was disappointing. The hotel is easy to spot in the distance. Staff helpful with any of my questions. I would definitely use this hotel again.
