Lovely and happening hotel

Good hotel to pick for a getaway holiday. We had fun in the pool and the atmosphere of the hotel in general. Great check in and very impressive housekeeping.
Cons - we decided to go for hotel buffet breakfast expecting a good spread and nice comfy service. Spread was ok but service for breakfast can really be better for HRHP. They can't wait to finish service and cleared away our coffee service at 10.30 and breakfast does not finish till 11am. Had to ask for sugar, milk etc to be resent to our table and we can feel beady eyes wanting us to quit eating and go. Not a very nice experience!
Otherwise, its a great hotel. Will stay here again soon but will not take my breakfast there!

The location of the hotel is very strategic as it is by the beach. Once we reach the hotel we are welcome by a drink. The room are absolutely great.

Rockin staff but not as it's hyped up to be

Small room for the price. Furniture looks dated (chipped, scratched, worn upholstery). King sized bed is actually two singles put together (wife had a back-ache the next morning). Great for families with young children or for those who are young at heart. Would probably go back...once we have young children to be able to appreciate the place and it's facilities better. Overall, liked the theme and.spirit of 'rock' being carried through, from the staff (bandmembers) to the embroidered guitar on the linen. Great for those wanting to have a fun and unique holiday. Good for those wanting the experience. Bad for the honeymooners expecting a quiet romantic getaway.
Nightlife Tip:
To get the most out of the night, get out in the afternoon around 5 to experience the night market n local delicacies. Head back to your room by 8 to freshen up. Then head down to Hard Rock Cafe for some dinner n chill-out to the band. Wake up early for their great breakfast spread before rockin out at the pool and beach.

Marvellous service
Good service and terrific pool.

Hard rock hotel provide us with homely service, they will try their best to fulfill our every needs in the hotel. The second best part will go to their man made pool. We were having a blast there. We will definitely going back to stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The location of the hotel is right in front of the beach. Therefore the seaview is nice.

basically very nice hotel, comfortable, enjoy it very much especially for lagoon room. i can just jump into the pool anytime once i walk to balcony. good services staff, clean room.

Loved the lagoon room option to be able to walk into the pool next to your room. The room has a drawback though, water seeps in through the tiles and makes the room permanently stinky and musty. Hated the super loud live bands that played on the beach making conversation in the room impossible. I love music but this was house type music, terrible on the ears! I would never stay there again, I am going back to the Parkroyal further up the road next time, the pool might not be as big but you can relax in a better atmosphere.
The coffee was always cold at breakfast too, and no teaspoons if you choose to dine outside...don't get that!
Restaurant Tip:
Go and eat at the Long Beach hawkers centre, good cheap food.

decent hotel but no exclusivity

great rooms , great party ambiance and decent staff.
but for the price that you pay, you get kids running around, lobby floor is wet due to people walking in and out from pool area to lobby area.
great for family with kids but not so good for romantic couple.

We were absolutely blown away by everything at The Hard Rock Hotel Penang! Just writing this is putting a smile on my face! The staff were great, the room was spacious (except for the tiny bathroom), the view was splendid and the food tasted great too! Special mention to the amazing water park in the pool area and bar tenders who know how to make a proper strawberry daiquari! Not just ice and rum:) Buffet breakfast consisted of a great spread and we looked forward to it each morning. Excellent hotel for families, couples, groups and singles. It will not disappoint!
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you need your laundry done, don't do it through the hotel as it can get quite expensive; just across the road fromthe hotel is a place that does laundry for about $3.50AUD per kilo of laundrey!!!! Bargain! Night markets are great and so is the entertainment. Can't wait to go back!
