Night market are just outside and very convenient rooms need updating, too old. When we arrived, we were given a room that was not satisfactory, but they were nice enough to show two rooms to which we settle for one at the corner as it was quieter and we have partial view of the ocean. Although the room was king of old, it was ok. They were out of king bed and gave us 2 double beds, they offer to put the two beds together, but we declined. Night market made it up for us, they are just outside the hotel, but need to haggle to get at least 20% off. We took taxi to RAsa Sayang for RM8, or you can walk to the Hotel. We had lunch and dinner on the beach, it was fantastic
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take taxi to Gurney Plaza, lots of food vendors at night around the mall.

Nicely maintained premium property. Very good location with good cuisine. Hotel is nicely located on the beach and has flee market operating at night time. Very clean and spacious rooms which are nicely decorated with all modern amenities. Very courteous and helpful staff. Our stay was quite pleasant and satisfying. keep it up.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Excellent location for excellent hotel. Must Visit.

Hotel is in the center of entertainment, shopping and site seeing.
Rooms are new and well serviced.
Fish Spa in the hotel was a very pleasant experience Breakfast buffet was not up to the standard We have spent a pleasant time in KL and in the hotel. It's surrounded with shopping malls, cafes and restuarants. Fish spa in the hotel was a unique experience.

Ideally situated close to everything. You don't need to get a taxi because you can walk to all the interesting spots. Great to have big double beds not to share. It would be nice if the happy hour included all beverages and not just selected ones. Enjoyed the stay at the holiday inn. A great location and the ferringhi tower section was just what the doctor ordered. No traffic noises or screaming children near the pool. Rooms were fantastic and the views were great. Staff were courteous and very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is contemplating a relaxing time in penang.

Free upgrade, good location, nice views We arrived at the holiday inn early and had to wait for our room for several hours. However, they very kindly upgraded us to a better room and we didn't even ask. We had a high floor with great views of the beach and town from the balcony. The room was pretty comfortable but a little basic. We did notice a damp smell from behind the bed. The location was good, within easy walking distance to most attractions. The pool quite nice and had the best sun beds we have seen. However, this does seem like a family hotel as there were lots of children so it wasn't particularly relaxing to spend time at the pool. The beach is nice for walking but not so good for swimming. The gym was decent.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The national park has very nice walks and well worth making the trip of about 7km...hire a motorbike or take the bus. The long beach hawker centre has a good selection of good value food in the evenings...it's just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Good selection of restaurants and hawker stalls close by The location is great, but if you’re going to George Town it is a 45 min taxi ride (about 35RM, memory a bit hazy on this one) or an even longer bus journey at about 2RM Breakfast was not included with the hotel booking and so I will admit that I never ate at the hotel. Instead I would walk down the streets (no more then 2 to 3 minutes) to come across restaurants and hawker stalls.
I was never a person to have a proper Malaysian and but there was a lot of "western" meals available for breakfast. I had a great bowl of porridge and my friend had a full English Breakfast which he was very impressed with.
The evenings we went to the hawker stalls area down the road and had a variety of really great meals, was never disappointed.
The room was very large (the biggest of all the hotels I stayed in on this holiday). It was also well maintained and looked after being nice and clean. Considering we got a twin bed room, the beds where doubles. If I was to have one complaint it was that sound got in quite easily and I would find myself waking up due to the birds squawking in the morning.
Staff where very friendly and there is a good pool and access to a very good beach front.
Would say that this was the best hotel I stayed in over the course of my holiday in Malaysia.
Nightlife Tip : A number of stalls are out in the evening selling this and that... but I would say that the same good as found in places like KL etc where at their cheapest here, so would highly recommend getting your goods from here.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located right on the beach. The hotel is situated on the main (only) road around the island which is very busy all day and evening. This hotel has an excellent location of you want to lie in the sun and rest, or enjoy water sports. Immediately outside the hotel in both directions there are plenty of restaurants and internet cafes (plus tailors and massage parlours), and the night market is right there, too. Otherwise, there is not much to do in this very small resort village.
The hotel has two sections: one right on the beach, and a newer "Garden Tower" across the road, connected to the first section by a walkway over the road.
I arrived to check in to the beach-side building at 4 p.m., but my room was not ready. After waiting a hour I was given a inferior room, which I rejected. I finally got the original room, which was spacious enough, but it had not been properly serviced: no mineral water, no bath mat, and the floor was dirty.
The room was also on the road side of the building, so there was a lot of noise all the time. A better option would be to book a room in the Garden Tower on a high floor, to avoid the noise from the road.
The room did not include breakfast: the buffet breakfast cost 51 ringit plus 15% taxes. A better option is the continental breakfast, which was ample, for 25 ringit (plus taxes). The hotel staff were always obliging and even took notes about your particular wishes.
Restaurant Tip : Exit the hotel and turn either right or left for a wide selection of restaurants offering a variety of cuisines.

Good central location, spacious rooms, free newspaper breakfast not automatically included in the offered packages. The hotel has a good central location in Batu Ferringi, I found the rooms quite spacious and the large balcony was superb. I also got a free newspaper in front of my room every day. The pool was great and cleaned daily. The beach in front of the hotel can get a bit noisy because of the jet-skis and the quad motorbikes. Overall I had a pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn in Penang.

fantastic location, friendly staff, good rooms, convenience excess to other locations. i had a fantastic stay at holiday inn hotel penang due to the reason that is was worth the money i paid for the rooms, fantastic location easy excess to other places, very friendly staff, the night market in front of the hotel was the best (good shopping experience and good bargains.) Over all this was one of the best holidays i had i me and my wife ready enjoyed ourselves.
Nightlife Tip : there a great night market in front of the hotel which will give you great stuff and fantastic bargains.
