Average no thrills hotel with brilliant staff
Great staff who are very helpful and friendly
4.7
the hotel is run down and in need of modernisation. the rooms are average value and the wifi is very good. if you are just looking for somewhere to get sleep this is your place, if you are looking to relax and chill out for a few days maybe consider somewhere else.

Clean room and affordable
Good location and easy access
7.3
I was aware that this hotel is aged but despite that, it's good location still attracted me. The price is cheap and room is clean, I get what I've paid for. Lots of places to eat around the hotel, convenient to move around town

Great Location but old hotel
Good Location, WiFi and Value for Money
5.7
The location of the Hotel is great. The Wifi connection is good. However, the hotel is old and needs decoration. Only simple breakfast (bread and coffee) is provided.

Very basic hotel with poor service
2.7
This is very basic hotel with a need of immediate renovation. Rooms are not welcoming, paint falling off. Air cond filters not changed for ages, so air and room smell bad. You will not be the only living thing in your room, so prepare for little "visitors" in your paggage.
The lady in reception was the most unpolite person I have ever met in my travels in Asia. Other staff a bit better, cleaning lady even friendly.
The location seem to be ok in website but really its very far from everywhere and the far end of dirty and dark alley. It dont matter really cause there is nothing to see in this city.
Internet was free and working well. Breakfast was basicly only empty plates. You needed to "upgrade" to get something to eat, and of course pay. So there is not basicly any breakfast included.

small hotel with satisfactions

Checked in late evening, not much time to care about hotel facilities.
But we found good food nearby and short walking distance for shopping area.
Hotel breakfast should serve earlier and morning call should be on time!
Wifi services should be 24 hours running.
Car park lighting should have more lamps to better secure viewing .

Good location, decent room

Good service, big rooms, breakfast at rooftop with good view, walking distance to other Georgetown locations (but then, Georgetown is small, everywhere is within walking distance).
Cons: small TV with limited channels, so-so toilet.

Nice enough but needs modernising.

if you’ve been travelling in other se asian countries before coming to malaysia, the hotels in malaysia feel like a rip-off: you pay twice the amount that you pay in vietnam for an inferior room.
hotel mingood is about as good a room as you can get in malaysia for $30 a night. the room was large; we had a balcony; the aircon worked, and so did the wifi. breakfast was included too: toast and cornflakes - i’m ashamed of how pleased i was to have toast and cereal after months eating asian ‘breakfasts.’
the location of the hotel is fine for everything you would walk to in the city.
however, if the description above has got your hopes up, i will just say that this is an old hotel; there is a 70s feel to the rooms - not in a trendy deliberate way, in a hasn’t-had-much-money-spent-on-it-in-decades way - so don’t expect to be impressed. but like i said in the title, at least it’s clean; and the staff were friendly.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You can do a quick self-guided walk of the the city in an afternoon if you’re not stopping for ages at each attraction or going inside them. So if you’re staying in Georgetown for more than a couple of days you’ll probably need to get the bus out of town to some of the other things to see.

my stay in this hotel which i am a frequent visitor was spoiled due to the fact that the air con was not working well. complained twice. first time, the technician took care of it. later in the evening when the room was not cool enough, the front desk person check and he will talk to the night manager to change my room. before i went out for dinner, i told the same front desk person that my room is still not cold. i told him that the lobby is much colder than my room but he commented that the previous guest didn't not complain. he suggested that i complained enough the room is cold. i said that temperature of guest room depend on the guest and he was not willing to accept it. i also told him that in business "customer is always right". he also refused to accept that. when i returned from dinner, the night manager was not to be seen. i will only stay again because of price.
